Hi there!
I am thinking about talking up Doctor to be able to buff my alt as and when, but haven't got enough skill points to master it. I will be buying the best buff packs available as I have no interest in crafting them.
My question is will I have enough skills to buff my alt as a 0/3/4/0 Doctor (and if so will this give me the same buff as a master doctor) or do I need more skills to be able to use the buff packs?
Thanks

Yes a Doctor with 0340 can buff the same as a Master..
.. ONLY if you wear enough Bio clothing to offset the woundtreatment bonuses from Master. So a 0440 Doctor needs to have on +50 clothing. a 0340 would need +75... you can put +25 in hats and pants. I don't know bout other articles of clothing.. talk to your local tailor.

Yeah, I was under the impression that it was capped at +25.
If this is true, my question still stands - would I be able to buff my alt as 0340 doctor and would I get as good results as if I had been to a master doctor?

It is true that med bonuses cap at +25. If you look at the doctor FAQ you can read, "Any bonuses are capped at +25. That includes bonuses from tissues and skill tapes/armor attachments. Even though it is possible to wear clothing with higher bonuses than +25, the benefit caps at that point. (Note that your skill mods will show +55 or whatever you have, but the effective use is only +25. You are essentially wasting those other 30 bonus points.)" I find it very funny what some Master Doctors don't know about they're own profession.

This poster is in error.
You absolutely will NOT be able to buff as well as a Master Doc will 0,3,4,0.
No matter what you do you will be 50 mod pointsbehind a Master.
If you get 0/4/4/0 Doc then you will be 25 mod points behind a Master.
Without being a Master Doc your buff's base power will be weaker due to a Master Doc having to use experimentation points to lower the Med use to 90, which is the highest Med use you will have.
That being said....
With a base power of 800
BE clothes adding +25 to wound treatment ( 25 is the MAX cap )
and a droid with a med rating of 110
Master Docs will buff for 1980
A0/4/4/0 Doc will buff for 1760
A 0/3/4/0 Doc will buff for 1540
So your buffs will be +400 under that of a Master Doc

Thanks for that guys
So basically, my buffs would be good enough for most PvE but not PvP.
I always need just a few more skill points... lol
