Hi all.

I've recently mastered doc with my ALT and am slowly gathering my own materials to make my own buff packs for personal use.

I've carefully read a number of posts, and understand that while it's important to have really good quality advanced components, the key to good powered buff packs is the avian and reactive gases.

I'm on Bloodfin and I painstakingly been hunting Whisper Birds on Yavin for almost a week and have built up a stash of about 10K avian meat.

Today I checked for the latest spawns and it seems that stuff on Rori is better, but I'm not sure how big of a role the DR has in the equation.

So, my question is this:

Based on the avian stats below, should I continue hunting the meat on Yavin or should I immediately run to Rori to go after the Avian Meat there?

Could I also get a explanation of why one is better than the other?

(I'm looking for the best powered buffs by the way)

RORI avian meat: OQ=950 PE=845 DR=415

YAVIN avian meat: OQ=864 PE=806 DR=732

(Don't know if this matters, but the reactive gas I'm collecting is OQ=908 DR=80)

I do know this as I'm starting to get this down, the DR on your gas is very low. You may make better buffs with the lower quality Rori meat.

PS: Dathomir just spawned some 999OQ700+ PE & DR on corbantis. The planet lags likehell now.

I am an SOE customer, now only if they'd treat me as one...hell, I'd be happy if they treated me like a McDonald's customer.

A quick formula for obtaining an index value to compare the end result power of a buff with two different batches of Avian meat (don't use this formula for othermedical resources)is: Power = 0.5 * OQ+ 0.5 * PE. While a quick formula for obtaining an index value to compare two batches of Avian meat with concern to duration of the buff is: Duration = 0.6 * DR + 0.4 * OQ. Using these rules of thumb your 2 batches of avian will look like this:

Rori Avian: Power 897.5, Duration 629

Yavin Avian: Power 835, Duration 784

So now, the decision is a personal one. Do you want a stronger buff or a longer lasting one? Stronger, then go with the Rori spawn. Longer, then with the stuff from Yavin.

By the way, Choku drop more meat than Whisper Birds.
