Hi Everyone,
I came across something stupid beyond my imagination this week and I was wondering if this should be changed or not...
Up untill two weeks ago, I had 1 toon. A Male Zabrak, Swords and Doctor. I was using my apron and a pair of +9 medical experimentation tusken gloves to make meds and buffs with 11 points. 2 weeks ago, I decided that going dual combat would be a fun thing to try but I didn't want to stop crafting, so I decided to buy an alt. Because of shortage of entertainers in our guild, I decided to make my new toon a human female, and make her master doc, a little merchant and entertainer.
A few days ago, i finished master doctor with my new toon so I dropped Doc with my first one. Few days ago, i decided to make new buff sets and to my surprise, a human female can't equip tusken gloves! So now, i'm stuck with an expensive pair of gloves that I can't use amymore because apparently, a male zabrak's hands are very different than a human female's hands.
this makes completely no sense to me. I would understand that toons with 5 fingers can't equip gloves that have 4 fingers, or what odd looking species have their own clothing items, but why would they program the game so that a human female can't equip a pair of tusken gloves.
I agree that some items should be gender specific, but to me, that gloves are gender specific makes no sense.
I opened a ticket on this, asking if I could at least get my item replaced my leather gloves maybe, or something that could be equipped my both male and female and I hit nothing but a wall. My option? delete my toon and start the whole thing over again, or try to find someone on my server to trade them. But those are very rare and I doubt i could find someone with a similar item.
So, I would like to know, if skirts and robes aren't gender specific, why are gloves gender specific? What are those tusken gloves made out of that makes it impossible for a female to equip them? makes no sence to me

Tusken Clothing is Specific to Human / Zabrak Males only. What I would do...delete your new toon and remake it as a male. Thats the only thing you can do short of selling the gloves.

The racial/gender restrictions on clothing are simply baffling to me. When I got my set of experimentation tapes together, I needed to use nearly every piece of clothing that I could wear. Having not worn a hat in the past, I found a tailor and simply asked for a hat with sockets for my tape. I am a male twi'lek and was surprised that of the 6 styles of twi-lek hats the tailor had on her vendor, I could not wear 5 of them. I ended up with the most god-aweful looking grand-pubah headdress thing, but I didn't care I just wore it for the experimentation tape that it contained.
I have since consolidated my tapes. When I went to sell the headdress, it went for a single credit (with a +1 med exp tape in it). I didn't want it, and it appears that no on else wanted it either...

Ojes: what did you do with it? put it on the mantel piece as a testament to your past?

If I would have looted a sexy skirt, a light in my mind would have flashed telling me that this can only be equipped by females. But come on, they are gloves!

It went in an auction - all of my clothing pieces with singles attached. Most went for 20k - 100k. The hat thingy went for a whopping 1 credit. The buyer actually felt guilty and offered to pay me 10k for it (he placed a blanket min-bid at the start of the auction), but I honored the auction rules I had set and gave it to him for 1 credit.
