Thread: Getting good resources for buff making

Hi guys!
I would love to craft my own buffs, and was aware of the resources I needed, so I began hunting around all the various places as I was progressing up the doctor tree. I hoped I'd be able to stock up before I become MD so I would have the resources ready and waiting.
I did manage to get some of the required resources with not bad stats. But most of the other resources for example herbivore meat/tatoonian fiberplast have had crap stats eversince I cant remember when. Also my firends/relatives had the game like a year b4 me and they said the stats were crap eventhen.
Is there some secret place were you can go to get these resources with thegood stats that I dont know about. The reason for me saying this is the amount of vendors selling resources,med supplies and buffs must mean that people must be getting resources with good stats from somewhere? Any ideas where as i'd like to know before I scream.

Do a search on swgcraft.com, that will show you virtually all of the spawns since the start of the game.

Professional resource sellers usually have a huge amount of harvesters under their control, so when something good spawns, they can extract it like there is no tomorrow. But they use the same spawns as everybody else does, too. But because they harvest huge amounts it may still be on their vendor although it despawned maybe half a year ago, while everybody else already used all of his units. There is no secret place that gives better resources, you have to watch the current spawns of your server and maybe buy good old spawns.

On a set of buffpacks, the subcomponents contribute less than200 power to the final med (75 aSDS, 25 aBEC, 75 aCRDM would be excellent subs). It is true that the loss of 20 points on your aCRDM would be considerable on your final product, it is not devastating.
If your intention is to make the best buffs the server has ever seen, you really need to be around for a while to be able to try that. If your goal is to make competitive buffpacks, you can do that with mid-level herbivore (OQ700 PE400). That level of herbivore spawns quite frequently on Flurry.

The good thing about Herb meat is thatit isalways spawning in all 10 planets, so considering that, you will always have higher odds of getting a good spawn of it before other more specific resources (such as C4, Dolo Iron as so on ...) spawns.
And you should also keep in mind that unlike Avian meat for instance, the the PE on Herb meat is capped at 700 max. So don't try to look for some 900+ OQ and PE Herb, because you will never find.

I am aware that the resources respawn with random stats. My point is that I've been waiting for 6 months+ for a required resource to spawn with good stats. It hasn't, so how muchlonger do SOE actually think people are going to wait for a resource to spawn with good stats..? Its silly.
Yes, I could hunt around for resources on vendors....but thats not the point here !

Although I don't know your server, I can say that droughts of specific resources (like tat fiber and lok wild wheat) are quite common.
The only thing you can do is harvest what is current and then reharvest anytime there is a better spawn. Over time, you should be able to compete with the established doctors.
The other good thing about your situation is that tat fiber and lok wheat do not add very much to the final buffpack stat that customers really care about (power). I wouldn't get too worked up over it. As long as you have excellent reactive gas and avian meat, your buffpacks will be able to compete.

lol m8 I never knew that the herbivore was capped ha ha !
So is the cap only for PE or both on the herbivore meat?

Herb Meat hasits PE and Fl capped at 700.TheOQ however, has no limitations.
