I lately noticed some very strange things: I did a fullrun with 17p/21ch ABECs and got 941 Base on my packs. All fine. So i did the next run with all exactly the same resources, equippment and city status (Research Center) and also made 17p/21ch 1000 ABECs for each Pack. Now i got 2 Shematics - Health and Quickness - that had again 941 Base, but the other would not get over 940 Base as often as i tried. I tested a bit around and after i used the ABECs that were for Health on Stamina i got suddenly 941 on Stamina too. (But again - the stats where exactly the same - 17p/21ch). (I had to use the ABECs as there where intended thou and i got a 940-Base-"only"-run)
So has anybody recognized such things before? Is there a truncated decimal part that is just not shown? I can imagine that SWG calculates maybe internal with lets say 17.1 power/21.4 charges and then 17.8 power/21.4 charges and rounds 17.8 up to 18 when it gets combinated in the final progress, but shows still only 17p/21ch when you watch the ABEC alone, but:
To add a thing: I got a shematic with 18p/21ch some time ago with very much luck i guess (used the same resources as like for 17/21) and never got that again as often as i tried... so i used the shem lately and wanted to use it in a 65-set-run that should come out as 942 Base (as above... with 17p/21ch i can get 941 Base). Error again - 941 Base is maximum. Iam really confused, but maybe someone can explain it.

You are correct... The game uses something called "display decimals" -- don't ask me why it can't just round things off -- which means that what we see on the screen is a truncation of the actual value. So, your 21 charge BEC may show as being experimented to 83%, but the game is really working with something more like 83.45232678.
Then, because the numbers that matter -- charges and power in the final pack -- are also truncated, we havea situation where the usual correspondence between subcomponent improvement and final pack improvement is thrown off... And really, one of the more interesting challenges in crafting is to figure out precisely where those rollover points (in your case, when you'vejust exceeded942power)are, and to be sure that you're always just on the proper side...
It helps to keep track of the resources that you use in subcomponents (as well as their percentages), because there are situations where two subcomponents, identical in stats and experimental percentages, will produce different results in certain final products...
Hmm. Come to think of it, I'm glad it doesn't just round the numbers off. Being able to hit the same stats with cheaper resources is an excellent reward for the crafting-savvy.

I'm convinced that all components have decimals, just like crystals/pearls, but it doesn't really matter as they just add on to the end number.
As far as experimentation goes, there are differnt kinds of "great successes." I exp all my points in power on one roll for buffpacks for example. I drop 7 points on that bar and run exp. In my last run of buffs, I was doing this and sometimes I'd get 813 power w/ a great success, and sometimes I'd get 758 power w/ a great success. I still had points left but to have a that large of a difference in experimentation made me have to exp some packs multiple times until I got the right roll.

As i thought - decimals are important -, but at least it just makes crafting a bit more fun again. You never know what you can get. I will do shems.. run them for 10 Items now and then make the shematic to see if its the "right" ABEC. :-)
