Thread: Medicine Experimentation CAs still worth anything?
No, seriously: BE will use medical experimentation post-CU for the medical crafting, and more than likely for pet and additive crafting also. But then again, most BEs are not uber rich...

The CA you are talking about would have sold for about 15 to 20 million about 4 weeks ago on Ahazi, but currently not many people are willing to spend that much. So the few that still spend money will offer below value, since they dont have a lot of competitors that also want to buy the item.
There has not been a looted medical experimentation tape in the CU test server to my knowledge, either. But since currently it says "medical experimentation" on the SEA and the devs changed "Bio-Engineer experimentation" into "medical experimentation", which will be applied to all BE products, I do not expect this tape to become useless. This is the common belief in the BE and doc communities, and BEs are not happy with having to play the 12pt game.
I dont expect a huge sale of doc experimentation suits, anybody having one is a serious crafter and will take up BE 0004, as MD / BE 0004 wont cost more skill points than MD currently. Moreover, since BEs will want these tapes to be able to craft on the same level as current 12pt docs moving over to BE, there will eventually be an increase in demand for these tapes I guess.
But then again, this is pure speculation - I am buying those tapes cheap, but I dont have 5 million to spare

Yup, one line of scout is currently still a prereq for BE, and it is a know issue the correspondent brought up to the devs. No word from them yet, though, at least not in public. Until they dont say it is as intended, I assume it to be a bug and base my points on the published CU docs, which said the only prereq for BE will be medic 0004 post-CU.

I believe we are both basing our assumptions on the same document (the one linked on the main forum page that Tiggs published on 03/29. In it, there is a link toCharacter Healing and Related Profession Changes
In that document, here are the ways that it lays out the prereqs of Doctor, Combat Medic, and Bio-Engineer:
Doctor Profession Changes
Pre-requisites change: from master medic to general healing line and pre-doctor line.
Combat Medic Profession Changes
Pre-requisites change: from master medic and marksman ranged support 4 to general healing line, pre-combat medic line, and marksman ranged support 4.
Bio-Engineer Profession Changes
Pre-requisite: novice medic crafting line.
The fact that they formatted the Bio-Engineer pre-requisites differently than Doctor and Combat Medic tells me that they did so for a reason. If they intended novice medic crafting line to be the only pre-req, they should have been consistent and said:
Pre-requisites change: from novice medic crafting line andscout hunting4 tonovice medic crafting line.
I believe they either knewwhat they were doing and just didn't want to make it fully known, or are still debating the valid arguments that BEs have about changing the requirement from hunting 4 to exploration 4 as well as the novice medic crafting line.
Just my interpretation of the information given. You may have read it differently. Only time will tell what actually goes live (though I support the exploration requirement personally)...

Either one of those possibilities would generally devalue the skill tape that you have, and (as Eskie said) cash in hand will not be devalued come CU. My advice is to go ahead and sell it now...

C) The Devs will introduce a 3rd type of tape... call it "Bio-Engineer Experimentation" ... into the game. This would have 2 effects: 1) all existing Medical Experimentation CAs would be rendered useless and Docs/CMs would get screwed again (see 30k resource veteran reward) ... and 2) Docs, CMs AND BEs would now be on a level playing field, all having to acquire the "new" CAs from scratch.
NOTE: this is JUST speculation. I have no credible information that this is/would/couldever happen! I just pulled it from my a$$ as a 3rd possibility ![]()
