Hello all, I am working on doctor since dropping the dancing profession. It has been great so far and I enjoy chatting with my patients. I just made novice doctor last night. My question is this: Which lines should I progress in first? Keep in mind I plan on being a master doc, and not just going 0-2-4-0. I know the crafting tree can be done pretty easily, but which other ones are important and make heals better and allow healing states and such. Thanks for any advice, and the doc faq's was a great read!

I would recommend the wound treatment line first, followed closely by medicine knowledge (or even in tandem).

By advancing up the wound treatment line, you'll gain the benefit of having your wound medpacks heal more effectively as well as obtaining the skills to apply enhancements and revive falled players. You'll quickly want to go up the medicine knowledge tree, as well, though, as you won't be able to use many of the higher level meds (including enhancement packs) until you do.

Finally, I'd go up the wound treatment speed line.

Of course, the crafting line can be done whenever you find the time.

Suggest treatment speed

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, 'How can we do this and not make another EQ?' We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen." - JULIO TORRES

I did the wound speed tree first. At the time, I was still spending a lot of time in the med centers, so if I could heal quicker, I could heal more, and get more xp. Also, people are catching disease more and more these days (doesn't anyone use protection anymore?), which is in the speed tree. Lastly, when was the last time you saw a Field Surgeon wandering around? It's refreshing to see them.

i think if i were to do it again, i might go up the wound treatment speed column. Just for the ability to treat faster. I went up the knowledge column first, then wound treatment, speed, and finally crafting.

I did wound treatment line first as the bonus heal per pack is an excellent source of XP, also means that you have the Heal Enhance ability for buffs.

Second line I would say depends on the way you play, either Med knowledge if you plan to buff, or Wound speed if you plan to heal. Crafting line should be done as you get to it.

Whats the Med use of Res kits? Do you need the whole med use branch or just part of it? I could probably just grind out the 23k I have left ofcrafting now, but I'll ask you guys

Thanks for the info, as of right now I am 0-1-2-1....think I will go 0-2-4-1 first so I can buff myself (selfish ain't I?). And then finish up 2nd line and then first one. The crafting one if I may say so sucks if done trying to macro, and wastes resources. I couldn't find crap quality stuff to grind with and using good stuff is a waste for practice. So I am just gonna take my time crafting, the expriementation was fun never done that before.

Now if I could only find good resources on my server for less than 20cpu! I didn't realize how much money it took to become a doctor. Not real big on harvesting but at this point I am gonna try it, because I would like to attempt to make my own stuff. Probably not going to sell anything as we have at least two great vendors on Valcyn with awesome med packs and such. Well thanks all for the advice and if you think of anymore let me know!

Rez kits have pretty low med use, often below 50. The only things that can be experimented on them are charges and ease of use, so you don't need any of the med knowledge line to use rez kits.
