Thread: Doctor improvement suggestions (and CM too)

1) Make the "heal target of my target" a toggable option. I want to control what friendly targets I heal and want to heal myself if I'm not targeting a friendly character.

2) The use of enhancers is annoying for several reasons:
- No /-command to use them except /ui action [...] and putting the enhancers in the toolbar.
- If we put the enhancers in the toolbar instead of the action, we get no cooldown indicators (same issue with stims).

I suggest the following fix:

Allow us to 'equip' one of each enhancer-type (which we are qualified to use). Do this either by a normal "double click" (like armor or weapons) or add a separate UI or item (doctor bag). IMHO the double click method would be preferable. This could, but wouldn't necessarily have to, free up the inventory space normally used by these items. This is benefital in every way:
- We control which enhancer pack to use.
- No expensive search or even recursive search of the inventory each time a heal is used.
- No need for /ui action calls, simply use the standard /bactajab etc commands.

#2 is most important and I think both docs, cms and BE's making enhancers would like this change. I would argue that stims should have a similar construction, but it's less important since realistically everyone will only carry one type of stim whereas a doc/cm can have a whole bunch (especially if they were all worth using).

3) Expensive to make enhancers that only adds had 5-10 minutes to the duration of a buff is useless. Either remove them or make them effect the power of the buff as well (not drastically, just enough to make it worth the investment). For CM's adding a bit of duration to a debuff might be worth more since they typically have a short duration and increased ticking on the dots is of course always nice (although a bit low difference?).

4) MD should have more benefit over a 4000 doctor in terms of healing than they do now IMHO. If all you want is healing, going past 4000 doesn't do that much. I would love a 30-50% increase in healing from 4000 to MD. This might be better in Pub 19 - will have to wait and see.

5) /bactaInfusion is handy but if you're playing solo, it's often not worth it due to the very long (relatively) global cooldown. It's more efficient to use normal heals if you also try to put out damage. Might be fixed with Pub 19.

Edit 1:

6) Using stabilizers have a similar issue to /bactaInfusion - long global cooldown. I can see if I can't heal but why can't I attack? It thus also gets marginal use in solo play.

Not going to happen, it just takes getting use to, but it's actually a good feature. But according to the Devs at Fan Fest this option will not change. 2) The use of enhancers is annoying for several reasons: - No /-command to use them except /ui action [...] and putting the enhancers in the toolbar. - If we put the enhancers in the toolbar instead of the action, we get no cooldown indicators (same issue with stims). This is also not going to change, they want people to physically select Enhancers. If you really want to read more about this read this thread.

1) I want an option to disable it. It's NOT a good feature in many many cases. I will RANDOMLY heal someone who might not even need healing (say I have aggro, need healing, shoot off a heal and then just before it goes off, the mob changes target and I heal someone not needing healing). I want to control what I do. I don't want the game to "figure something out" (unless that means heal the one who needs it most). Same goes for "assist" really. I want to select the "main assist" group member and hit my assist key. More direct control is good.

2) Fix #1 and this isn't a major problem. If they insist on always leaving #1 as it is, this will continue to be a major pain in the rear. They stated that they didn't want to scan through the backpack every time, and I understand that. They don't want to randomly use one of the available enhancers. This I get as well. My suggestion solves both issues. If they keep the system as it is, they NEED to add a cooldown to the items when added to the toolbar.

No you don't "Randomly" heal people....you heal the person the Mob is attacking at the time. If you want to heal yourself hit ESC until you are no longer targeting a mob / person.

They will eventually add a cooldown for items....they just haven't figured out how to yet. Which is something they said in a few different panels at Fan Fest. Trust me, they are aware of the issues with enhancers.

The use of the doc bag for enhancers is a great Idea. The coding should not be that complicated what ever you have in the doc bag the system uses. that does not seem like it conflicts with what the devs want maby if we can get our doc and CM corro to push this idea to the devs.

I would also like to see the Doc bag be used for Enhancers, but from what I remember from fan fest there was / is a reason the Devs don't plan to do it.

The reason was not to use enhancers from inventory so people did not use their "uber" stuff by mistakes, that is from what I read, I could be wrong.
