Over the past 4 days I, probably like a lot of other concerned Docs, have been reading posts in the Doctor forums going over good & bad points in the CU. Many opinions have been expressed, and the general feeling in here is one of uncertainty.
However, I would invite all of my collegues to venture out (if they haven't already) to some of the other Profession Forums ( notibly: Dancer, Musician, Chef, Bio-Engineerand Tailor). Get a feel for some of their concerns about the CU.
I'm not proposing that any one group's concerns are more or less important than the Docs'... however, readingwhat they are worried about kind of brings into perspective our worries... and, perhaps (hopefully) will help everyone realize that it effects a much wider range of SOE's customer base.
What I'm trying to get at here is that we are not alone in our concerns... we should not feel like Docs are being 'targeted' by the Devs ... many others are going to be affected by the CU (outside of just the combat professions) as as such, since we all represent a major portion of the subscriber base, if organized and clear in our concerns, we might ... just might have a fighting chance to affect the outcome of the CU before it's too late.
Along those lines,
the following is quoted from a posting in the Tailor forums by NJ62:
How to Kick Butt Posting in Dev Feedback Threads
Now, a few tips that I have learned from being a corr way way way long ago: the devs really like if you get to the point.
Headings are a good way to accomplish this. If you want them to take notice, your entry could look something like this (to take an example from above):
Problem: With the removal of mind wounds, myoflex cloth, a BE clothing enhancement which enhances the speed at which entertainers heal mind wounds, is now useless.
Proposed Solution: Make myoflex cloth increase BF healing time rather than mind wound healing time.
Alternatively, they like a bulleted approach:
Potential problems with removal of mind wounds
- Myoflex cloth (made by BE's to enhance tailor clothing) which adds a bonus to mind wound healing is now useless
- Skill tapes affecting mind wound healing are now useless, which is unfair to players who paid enormous sums for them
Or a question - sometimes a dev will quote and answer a well-worded question or questions.
1) What are your plans regarding myoflex-enhanced (BE) clothing since myoflex adds to mind wound healing mods and mind wounds are now going away?
2) How will skill tapes affecting mind wound healing be treated?
Remember - in these examples it's important to give a very very brief description of what myoflex does, in case the dev reading doesn't remember right away. They have to keep in their heads the minutia of 30+ profs, while we as players usually keep track of 4 or so.
Here's an example of what they are likely to skip over and not read:
I've been a tailor on blah blah server for 10 months. A large portion of my business is from myoflex clothing. Entertainers love the myoflex clothing and my vendor is popular all over the server. I've staked my reputation on myoflex clothing. I'm sure a lot of tailors have done the same. In the document, however, it says that mind wounds are not going to be part of the CU. This is worrisome because this is my main source of business. I have 35 crates of myoflex tissues - will these suddenly be useless? What about all the money I spent on them? It is unfair that players have spent so much money on items that are now worthless without compensation.
The above is a perfectly valid argument, that the devs are likely to skip. They have to read pages upon pages of posts, and the above post does not get to the point. Mind you, this is a great post for the tailor boards because 1) we read most everything and 2) we care how your individual business is going. Not so in a feedback thread. In a feedback thread you only want to give an abstract general view of the problem and the solution. If more explanation is needed, then you can add one AFTER you do something with headings or bullet points or questions.
Also, if you write questions, remember to make them clear, and do not combine your questions.
1) With mind healing being removed will myoflex be changed and if so will skill tapes be changed and in what way?
Dev answer: "Yes"
Yeah, that was a sucky answer, because you have no idea what the dev is answering, and the meat of the question was never addressed. The above question should be broken into manageable chunks so the answer actually clears things up rather than confusing the issue.
Good luck getting your feedback out there.

There is no fighting chance. They've made up their minds already! (LOL). Well maybe it's not that bad...
Hey there is always a chance, however I'm of the belief they've made up their minds and the change will come. Any of our concerns, once sorted through, may be addressed after the ROTW release, as a publish or fix, etc.
The changes mentioned already...will happen as planned...
However by all means, unite behind a common front and take a shot at it!
