Thread: 4 points that need answering (and a bit of banging on)

Dear Blair,
what the f**k is this? SOE trashes a profession thousands of posts and yet no reassurance explanation or reply?? How the f**k would you feel if somebody roled into SOE fired a good fraction of your staff for working their asses off and then ignored the complaints? Thissux. Blair, thank you for intoducing yourself but have you been taking communication skills lessons from George W. The reason you are all playing WoW is to learn a game that is popular but you are missing the key point that is it tries to respect its fans. TH and Tiggs may be opinionated and elusive but at least they try to front issues and respond to individuals when things go wrong. Things have clearly gone wrong because your great launch has been greeted with shock and dismay.
There are some good ideas in the game revamp (can we stop coming up with fancy names like CURB cos the professions most adversely affected so far are NOT the combat profs) but have u incorporated the popular threads looking at saving the game (eg jedi saver etc)or have you just decided to do your own thing without consultation or warning?? So doc as we know it is dead but we have no clue as to what comes next, helpful useful and just the kind of crud that you never get in WoW. When are you going to accept responsibilty for your actions and at least give a timescale for when you might answer some of our questions? Even politicians are able to do that and lets face it they have certain skills you could do with developing then you are suffering .
To start with
1. How many points will doc now take?
2. What skills will they have left?
3. Why will this be a profession worth mastering? (as in how is it more interesting/entertaining than just medic?)
4. What are you going to do to help out all the crafting docs you have just shafted by:
a. Explaining how their resources will/will not be useful post rewrite
b. Explaining how they may be able to rebalance after game rewrite (no. I am not expecting tips but some idea of how xp will work out.
This sentence is off -topic but - Nice that you changed it forall professions in terms of balance but were to lazy to write thisout fully toso crafters can work out how they are affected? Their HAM is down so they are wimps but is their xp changed?. Reason i ask crafting docs are going to have to remaster and need to know.
And please talk to your correspondents . They represent the people who buy the game so Sony decide to pay your salary. They can help you if you talk to them. And grow up and stop telling us something is great and expect us to believe you if you don't take some of the basic steps outlined above. Trust is a commodity that is earned, faith is for those with religious values and you are no god.
Yes you could expect a backlash from those who are loyal to the game at having it radically changed it- do not think this excuses the fact that you lack the basic marketing savvy to have briefed people like Tiggs and TH so they could have vetted correspondent reponses to our concerns without trashing your precious NDA. You could have managed this so much better if you had briefed key people so they could have supported this rather than leaving so many people who invest in your game to just hang.
Other players feel free to flame me if you disagree but please if you want to say, wait and see please go take a leap. I feel that I've paid dues to expect an answer to these 4 questions. Especially considering this information is available for points 1-3 for combat profs and that point 4 is a matter of honour.

Could you explain more fully the changes directly to crafting doctorsso crafters can work out how they are affected? I only ask so that doctors know how and what to master correctly in order to prepare for the CURB.

I would hope that Aefich is still on to read responses to this post. His sentiments are echoed thoughout the forum at the moment. His most valid point is that concerning trust. I recall reading that buffs would be decreased and the ham might be remanaged. No surprises here (but 10%, eek). I did not recall reading anything stating that docs would be stripped of their crafting abilities (yes, i know, move the points to BE) until the latest announcement. Why? If you are a crafting doctor and you find out: 1) Your product is being reduced to 10-20% it's previous strength. 2) Oh yeah, by the way, we are not allowing you to make it anymore anyway! Why wouldn't you be a little upset. Aefich is one of these guys and yeah, he should be very upset.
The point here is the lack of communication, SOE is letting this situation get way out of hand. I am very excited about some of the changes being proposed: stack reduction, balance amoung combat professions so I don't need to spend 121 on commando when I could just drop 92 on TK, attack and ability balancing, not needing a buff just to walk outside of Coronet, weapon and armor variation. These are all good for the game. Though, being good for the game on one hand does not excuse the lack of ongoing communication with those that appear to get hit rather than helped.

thank you, yes it reads better norneator. Still think a coupla ppl could do with having essential parts of their annatomy introduced to diseased quenkers tho. Bless you for ya mature reflection

You know technically SOE to delete all toons...and there isn't a thing anyone could do about it. Not really constructive this this thread, but it's something to think about.

weirdly enough i ain't lost my account. did expect to and am quite prepared not cos of the game but cos of how this upgraged is being blxd. there are some really good ideas in this that the devs are involved in but
1. they r not listening to concerned players and giving them a framework they can expect to get involved in *when is the bete * what can be changed modded cos of it * how much time b4 the TC?
2. they have forgotten that 3 things are keeping this game going at the mo.
1. players who jut love this world and put up with certain defficiencies like v limited PvE cos ts Star Wars man
2. People who respect the effort of the jedi quest/wanna own in PvP and find he complexity in SWG fun
3. the most sophisticated trade/craft system going outside a Eve and this is not just a trading game!(shame that without the right combo of resources taylors can't do stuff = but different to AS but hey that's another 100000 ppl to MxO)
3. Being honest. consider how many hours people have put into testing the most minute detail. Hey this is good news (hope they don not notice x) and wow we are not popular is a naive and vain way to develp a game. If you are nerfing a prof saying hey we are slashing back on a because we believe x will get you flamed. It will also earn you more respect than when players wor out x on their own initiative and find atrail of prev messages suggesting we have been misled. Anyway I am crashing. Players please agree/diss or bump as u see fit

I think poor Blair is hiding in a linen closet right now. His forum post has some 3000+ replies! Really wonder if the devs drew straws, or had a rock/paper/scissors contest to see who got to post the CU info. Might be nice of SOE should consider a person or two just to CS the forums.
