Thread: Quit the Whining--Unite!
- SOE is NOT intentionally trying to anger everyone.
- There is no conspiracy amongst the other professions to "off" doctors.
- SOE decided that the game needed to change, and they are virtually rewriting the game. This is a monumental undertaking. No Editorials on if they should/shouldn't or if they're doing it right/wrong--it was their decision to make, and they didn't set out to pick the process that would alienate the most people. That may be a side-effect (again, no editorializing), but it was not the intent.
- Maintaining an existing system AND creating a new system in parallel is an extremely difficult task in software development (this is something I do have some experience in...).
- Those uber-armored TKMs (I'm one of those myself) would be running from just about everything! There'd be a lot of dead Nunas on Naboo, because that's all anyone would be able to kill! And, they'd have to stop for 3-4 minutes afterwards to recover. (This might have the unintended side-effect of reducing lag.)
- Jedi would be frightened to come out, in case some Bounty Hunter actually paid the 100k to be buffed (or the alternative, the Jedi would pay the 100k for the buff).
- Newbie questions would flood the CSRs. "why do I die so fast?" "How come that butterfly can kill me?" "Is there a command for using the bathroom?" uh...er....well, you get the picture.
- Eventually, the system would break down, as none of the high end mobs are getting killed to drop elite loot to be sold on the forums. RIS armor would be a thing of the past, as would Krayt Pearls.
- We'd only be able to buff ourselves, and would do missions to make money.
- We'd start making that uber-geld that most people (granted, some understand how much docs pay out) think we're making. This would lead to us owning lots of large houses on the beach.
Merchant Docs got the boot. As I'm not, I don't mind. I'm needed as a Doctor now, a healer and for that I'm happy.

All thetime Ive spent time/most of us have spentgathering/harvesting/searching/spending MILLIONS on resources and 12pt suitson are all for not now.. Most people that have 2 accounts may have one of those a Doc to buff themselves/guildmates, as I do. I play my main and if these resources are what is being used when the CU hits, I WILL be 1 account less saves me $15 a month. If you are a healing doc fine be a healing doc works out great for you. Expect to pay a ton for your meds, and prob not get paid for services much. SWG offered the 30k resource deeds then decided to give everyone the finger and change EVERYTHING, knowing pretty much what everyone would select. I enjoy being a Doc, as it is now. I enjoyed crafting my own meds to see what they would come out to. I enjoyed the challenge to get the best combinations of resources together. Now that I have the ones I want (Most in excess of 100K+), I see that they will be worth about as much as a CDEF pistolis to a master pistoleer. I guess it is about that time to start selling off everything and get set to cancel my doc account.
I have honestly been trying to keep an open mind when it came to Docs and the CU, Ive tried it and dont like it as it stands now (Yes I know it is still Beta). After reading the notes on the Resources today, to me it was the last push to quit my Doc. I will continue to hold my breath, cross my fingers, throw salt over my shoulder, pray (lol j/k) in the hopes that the Devs REALLY do something nice for the Docs. As it stands now I thinkprob most of the establishedDocs in the Doc community will quit......................

I've had upto 4 accounts at the same time. From day one I have gathered resources in the hundreds of millions at least. I'm a shipwright, with 40+ million resources in houses at this moment in inorganics alone. I won't even go into all the organics I have. I have always gathered and stocked my own resources, surveyed and at one time managed 60+ nonstactic harvesters every 6-11 days.
I will still enjoy being a Healing Doc, and when I pick up 0004 BE I will still enjoy what you enjoyed. Gathering new resources and again struggling for that right combination of resources to make mine one up on the competition.

Sorry small miste there it should have been: One offour things would happend to Docs:
One of two things would happen to Docs:
- We'd only be able to buff ourselves, and would do missions to make money.
- We'd start making that uber-geld that most people (granted, some understand how much docs pay out) think we're making. This would lead to us owning lots of large houses on the beach.
- Docs would be all alone in the galaxy as no one else would bother logging in as they had nothing to do anyway. Being unable to hunt unbuffed.
- People would say "**** the Docs we did hunting in the old days before we even knew buffs were around, we can do that again
No offense Miriam but you're starting to sound awfully close to a CU cheerleader...

Don't be surprised if they move some exp points to MBE soon. As is a 0004 dabbling BE can outcraft a master BE. This, IMHO, is ONLY so the crafting docs don't howl in protest more than they already are. However it's also TOTALLY bogus to the MBE's out there. Pretty soon, I anticipate, we'll have to give up a lot in order to properly craft as we'll need MBE to keep our 12 point status...
