Thread: Doctors You can do more than heal, why didn't you tell us!!
To the Doctor community at large-
I recently went into a hospital to get my battle fatigue and han damage repaired. Being a Mon Calamarian and an artisian I get very damaged REAL quick, granted it isnt much damage but a Calamarian doesnt have much of a life bar. A player comes over with the title of Master Chemist, and he starts healing me. And then.. He does some kind of boost to my stat bars, not just a teeny little bit, almost double in numbers. All of them. Amazing. After talking with him a bit I find out it is some type of med pack, and the effects I get from him will last about an hour. I didnt have a lot of credits - but he got 1,000 of them. Worth every penny. I actually did rounds on my harvestors and didn't die. ![]()
My question is why didnt you tell EVERYONE!! And after looking over a lot of messages tonight I find that a Master Doctor can do a boost (a buff?) that lasts as long as two and a half hours. If I could get a 2 1/2 hour boost like that I would pay 2K a pop for it.Everytime. So I gotta do some kinda mission just to get the cash, it's faster than cloning a couple times a night. You gotta let us know you can do it. Hey when we come into your hospital dont be afraid to offer a boost for a fee. Or should we ask? And is 2K for a two hour boost a fair price?
With your skills to buff us up;problems with HAM on a suit of armor -History. Problem withHAM damage on some weapons - still there but we dont die from it AND we heal faster.
So Doc's how bout offering up this pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?

Now that they're (reasonably) fixed? I carry one of every level on me, and charge a scaling rate per each shot. Don't have much money? Here's an A-boost. Just finish a mercenary mission on Lok? Have some Ds.
It's a fantastic cyclical relationship, and the reason why I went up to Master Doc. I love these things.
My young friend,
there is no big secret about buffs. any doctor can do them, if they choose to that is. If you really want a doctor to give you a buff, all you have to do is ask around.
As to your question about buying enhance packs, you have to be at a certain level to use them.
I will certainly be asking -
about the scaling - what type of fee do you charge, do the effects last the same for level a to level d, and finally, I assume, the amount of buff changes from a to d but to what degree.
This may be why they are not doing much to change the ham on the weapons and armor. We are to depend upon you not only to keep us healthy but also provide a way for us to wear impossible armor and use impossible guns

Since you need to be a doc with at least level 2 wound treatment to be able to use buffs, there isn't a lot of market in selling them. Generally I just buff them at the starport, too.
I thin kit has to do with what most people are used to seeing withnon-Doc buffs in the game. Most people I know know that Docs ahve buffs, they just had no clue how good they were. The reason? Twofold, first what folks are used to in buffs, speaking of the best of the best for these trades.
Chef buffs: Food & Drink.Minuses - Small buff, Short duration. Pluses - No side effects, convenient and usable by anyone, sellable through a vendor or secure trade.
Smuggler buffs: Spice. Minuses - Stat reduction and puking animation from withdrawels. Pluses - Decent buff, decent duration, convenient and usable by anyone and sellable through a vendor or secure trade.
Next is that buffs had some bugs, as mentioned earlier, which made them a bit less useful because of unpredictabel wearoff times without the ability to rebuff.
But now, they are working so you get...
Doc buffs: Enhance Packs. Minuses - Only a Doc can buff you and how well the buff depends upon thier location or the camp or droid they have available to them. Not sellable through a vendor or secure trade means, except to other Doctors with the skill to use them. Pluses - Massive buffs (generally, although the heal variability rating can make these a bit wonky), very long duration. Long enough to make the inconvenience of getting buffed in a house/med center, rather than in the field, when possible more than worth the trouble.
