Thread: Master Doc heals lower than stim-D heals??

In the description of cu changes to doc it stated:

"The largest of these heals will be far less than a doctor or combat medic can accomplish and also will be on a re-use timer. "

As a master doc with FS healing 3 I can only heal about 800 while stim D's are healing at 1200. I know doc food and clothing still need to be modified to work with the new system. Maybe after you add those in I'll be healing more per heal? Or is the above statement taking into account more of a Heals per second than a direct heal to heal comparison? I know the timer on the stims is longer than my doc timer. I want to be a more effective healer and the cu is still very new. If there is something more I should be doing to be a more effective healer I'd like to know.

Thank you,

Well considering Stims have a 1m cooldown (unless it was changed) I can heal 4 times for about 800points each totalling 3200 points vice the 1200 from a stim.

Even if stims have a 30s cooldown I can still heal for about 1600.

In both cases thats only using one healing ability Bacta Shot. I could combine that with Bacta Jab and Infusion to make it even mo'betta then a silly little stim.

So, No, Master Docs do not heal for lower then a Stim D.

Yes, you've already figured it out.

Comparing one doc heal to one stimpack heal, the stimpack will do better. But compared over time, with the stimpacks having such long timers, a doctor can heal much more.

The way the devs stated it wasn't the best choice of words, although if you look closer at it you'll see this is what they meant.

I suggest waiting till bactjab enhancers are actually working and then compare. We are only seeing the BASE potental of our heals I'm sure in a few more weeks it will be clear what we are truely able to do.

There's one major problem with new method of healing the devs have given us. We can heal more damage if we focus multiple skills exclusively on one person without doing anything else during combat. This makes it impossible for a single doc to keep a moderate sized group healed.

Our primary focus is supposed to be healing, yet we're not very good at it.The multiple heal types are nice but still not very effective. My favorite type of game play has always been healing groups in combat since I started playing almost 2 years ago. I was looking forward to something that made this more common but in my opinion the CU didn't do this.

I've had some success with the bactajab enhancers but the biggest problem with the new skills and enhancers is the inconsistency in how they work. Some will default to healing yourself if you have an enemy targetted during combat while others require you to target yourself. Of course even the ones that heal yourself while in combat no longer work if your target dies before the heal kicks off.

Yes, the new system takes a lot of getting used to and the lack of response to issues makes it even harder to adjust since you don't know what's working as intended, what's a bug and what is still being adjusted.
