Is there a purpose to this? I could not believe it when I saw it. I was healing a few guildmates, and hit the /diagnose to see how bad their wounds were. Everything did the blackout-fade in thing. I healed a few wounds, then /diagnose (to see how many hours these poor guys were going to have to wait on me to heal them) and again, I've got the timer thing going.
My guild leader said "We can't have you running around spamming /diagnose!"
Seriously, is there some reason for this that I'm not seeing, or is this just another SOE gift to us Docs?

I agree, having a timer really only serves a purpose in combat, and diagnose isn't a Doc's secret weapon

Maybe they thought our current ability for 50 pointwound heals every minute was too much, so they needed something to slow us down even more.
Sarcasm aside, I personally think that there are a lot of unintended consequences from the changes made with the CU. Just things that have gotten overlooked in the whole process, as the focus has been on other things (combat). Would be nice for the devs to address some of these things, but they have a lot of things to check out and fix. Hopefully it won't take too long, though.

yeah I laughed when I first did /dia, after that I just asked the player to give me a play by play after each couple of heals, hehe.

You can just mouse over their health bar and see how many more wounds they have that way. But yeah, it's plain stupid.
