Right I'm really quite annoyed witht he amount of people coming on this forum and complaining.

on *how expensive buffs are*

I mean what the heck?

half the people don't know how hard and time consuming it is to get the resources that buff you for 2250, and then they start complaining that 15k per buff is to expensive? I mean for you numb skulls you can make 25k in 1 Janta/Mokk Mission thats more then enough to pay for the buff. You can stop complainingcause the whole SWG economy relies on Stim packs and Buffs so you can make your crappy money so **edit**!

hmm thats my rant over and sorry if it sounded a bit muddled up hehe

So your complaining about complaining? Lol.

Anyway, there is no problem with Buff prices. The problem is with the docs who make the buff packs gouging the docs who buff people.

The docs who are buffing people are actually being very cool to the public by not raising their prices more to compensate for the greedy arsed docs that make the buff packs, and sell them for upwards of 10k per set to the buffing docs.

This practice is total BS. It may take alot of time, resources and a good percentage of money to gather the stuff to make the buff packs... But there is no reason other than greed causing the buff pack pricing to go up so friggin high.

We docs should boycott these greedy arse hats until they, and the greedy rangers out there, start treating the SWG Doc community with a little more respect when it comes to buff pack pricing.

Flame away buff pack makers!

So we have to spend all our time finding, buying(for huge amounts), running around planets for the precious resources for a little profit because everybody is whining about buff pricing?? So you can all play and have fun? Don't think so.

You all want the best packs so we do our best to supply that demand paying up to 500 cpu for uber avian meat and between 10 and 90 cpu for all other resources(all best available), having nearly no time for anything else but trying to get the next run into the vendors for all doc's who preffer the best quality.

And yes i sell packs for 200k a full set, If someone thinks that is too much they go somewhere else and buy lower quality packs, it is a free galaxy.

LOL, let me get this straight. Your saying that you have a problem w/ crafters marking up prices? Look at the price of armor. Go **edit** about that. A crafting doc could make a lot more. Right now on Gorath, a good set of buffpacks will run about 24k pack or around 144k a set. In resources, it costs the crafter about 6k a pack. So you buff **edit** want to complain about how its wrong to charge you 100k more, when you are going to sell them and turn 3 times the profit......The buffers are greedy, not the crafters. Get it straight.

You're cracked.

You are basically asking Doctors to run around and do the work of gathering resources and making buffpacks to sell to you cheap so you can make a bigger profit sitting on your lazy ass buffing people. Who is the greedy one here? Let's break down the two jobs.

You

  • Go to vendor/doc buy set of packs

  • Go sit on ass outside starport and spam/buff

  • Make money

  • Rinse/Repeat

Doc

  • Watch swgcraft and/or survey themselves for months to gather good resources

  • Pay well over 100cpu for good Avian Meat when it spawns or spend hours hunting it

  • Invest in factories/power to run sets of buff packs

  • Invest points in Merchant to sell buff packs to you

This comparison can not even do justice to what it takes to be a dedicated resource watcher and jump on resources when they come out. If a Doctor doesn't do that they are charged huge prices on good Med resources by the suppliers. I think you have just had everything handed to you and don't like it when you are not in control of the prices. If you don't like it so much why don't you just start making your own packs (if it is as easy as you say).

If you are not willing to make your own then shut up and pay the prices people want to charge and count yourself lucky that they even see fit to make extra packs to sell to the public.

Can anyone tell I am hungover this morning? Crabby... crabby... crabby

/clap Bravo! Well said, you should be hung over every day

I for one do both.I hunt and gather the resources, make the buffs, and then use them on folks. It takes a lot of friggin time to get the resources yourself or a lot of friggin credits to buy the resources when you find something great that you missed. Don't like the buff pack prices, don't buy em. Don't like the cost of buffs, dont use them.

strider, completely agree

sure crafters can do money, but hey, 100k avian for 200-300 cpu is quite costy too.. i've gone through dozens of millions but i never really got rich, apart from ressources.

profit margin on 100-120k buffests isnt 50%, Buffsets should be 150k at least, and you need customers too to make big money too.

profit maring on public buffers is 300 % with 15k/per with much less work and hassle.

just my 2 cents.

just a few thoughts for he who started this post.

you can break the people who don't think buffs are overpriced.

1. docs making a killing from them

2. people who already have enough money that it would not matter whether you charge 5k or 50k for em

everyone else pretty much knows they cost to much.

some of us used to get buffed for 3 - 5k, but since buffing has come into such popularity, docs have decided to raise the costs.

i started playing shortly after launch, and i can assure you that the last 6 months have done bad things for buff prices.

1 last thought... do you honestly believe that when thousands of people "rant" about buff prices, they are the wrong ones, compared to a handfull of docs who's cred roll has 3 more zeros on the end of it than most peoples, say they are not to expensive?

(when did the swg medproviders begin to so drasticly resemble the ones here in america?)

I think you are just not smart enough to figure out how much you can make during one buff session. If you have a problem paying 15K to make over 300K then maybe we have to talk about how you go about doing your hunting. The only ones I see complaining that much about buff prices are the ones that have no tactics and no strategy with hunting and end up having to get a buff every 15 minutes because they keep getting killed.

I think this is quite true.

As I've only just begun levelling a doc character my comments really come from the other side of the fence as someone who gets buffs rather than crafts / gives them.

While people use buffs for many different circumstances, people on Dant running mokk / janta missions make a massive profit that I genuinely believe would not be possible without buffs. I think when you offset the price you pay against the loot/credit earning potential, even 50-70K a buff on Dantooine is a price that seems eminently fair. Especially as it only takes about 10 - 15 mins to do 3 shamen missions and cover it, for the next 3 hours it's all profit.....

Not that I'm encouraging those kind of prices but I guess my point is there are many people that think Doctors provide exceptionally good value for money on both the crafting and buffing side of the fence. And you're all greatly appreciated
