Thread: A Guild Doc Or Guild CM

Hi All,

A few freinds on Naritus are starting a GuildI intend to join. I am about 1/2 way up the Doc tree and Halfway up the CM tree. (Outof points asI have a bit of artisan, pistoleer and scout) I was going CM, but I am rethinking Doc, and could use some feed back.

I for now am the only medical they have.

Being that the guild will start small (10 players then active recruiting), I want to help them out the best I can. I think I need to choose one or the other and master it and not straddle the line. I dont really want to give up all of my scout, pistol or artisan, so I'm trying to tactically decide which way to go. I'm leaning heavy on the doc for the revive, cure poisonand buff reasons.

As a CM those ranged heals come in VERRRRy Handy. I'm not high enough to use poision c so it's a moot point.

Is my logic flawwed? I'm racking my brain here instead of working. (hehe)

Please some thoughts before I go mad and become the guild idiot prancing around in a fleshwrap playing the galatic equivlent of a tuba. (No Offense to Tuba players intended; trying to avaid that nasty Tuba flame war)

Thanks,

Doc Pepa

is your group smart? or are they dumb? if they're smart, go CM as you wont need to rez them all the time. if they're not, you'll need rez also, if they use lots of pets, AOE heals are much better in that respect....

Hi HoTron,

Thanks for the advice. The Core Group is all seasoned, with all of a Master of at least 1 skill set, and well into our elite skills. So You point about revive is well taken. I'd completely forgotten about the AOE's as I dont make them yet. But we really dont use pets that much.

This decision gets harder and harder. I think I'll talk it over with my guild mates and see what they think. I want to be sure when we begin actively recruiting I supplement our non-master members, and I think Buff's and revive fit nicely there.

thanks again,

Doc Pepa

I'm in the same situation currently - and I keep tossing it back and forth in my head... doc or CM...

I'm mainly waiting to see if CM components get fixed.

Buffs/Revives vs AoE Heals is my real debate.... on the tougher stuff if you can't keep them alive you're dead as well and revives are useless

Docs fix situations gone bad. CMs prevent situations from going bad. A good CM is more efficient at keeping a group of 8+ healed than the greatest Doc.

Using even CL15 pets can keep your party from getting diseased or poisoned in some cases. I evenkeep a cowardly gurreck out to guard me at all times.

Even a tough brawler with 1500 health can go down in 1 or 2 big hits. But when you lay on an Enhance D to get him over 3000, you buy time and save lives. I personally dont think anything the CM can do can match the enhances.

And doctors wipe away everything the CM can do if you face on in PvP. Poison and Disease are ntohing if you are prepared.
