I'm a play a doc on both kauri and lowca, and I'm finally looking to get myself a nice quality droid. What are the things that you look for in a droid? I hear that you can't store things in the surgical droids, so it seems like a r2 or r4 is the way to go with a nice med multiplier. My real question is how do you tell what the med rating is? Do you take the DE's word for it or what? The other question thats been eating at me is the med enhance clothes. Where are you guys picking this stuff up? I thought it was broken so I never bothered, but browsing the boards I see more and more docs mention it, so info would be appreciated. Thanks for helping get this novice doc started--

For combat I use a Probot droid with med capabilities, other then that I have an R2 with a med crafting station and medical capability.

As for medical enhancng clothing mine still don't work. I have 60 base med use skill and made an enhance pack that requires 65. I have a jacket that has a +12 med use enhancement so I put it on for over all +72 med use skill and it reads that in the skill mods. Stillcan't use any meds over 60 requirement.

oh, and it also tells you the medical rating on the droid datapad calling device. I dont remember if it states it on the deed.

Lysis on Lowca made my R2 with 110 medical rating.

They decided to take med use skill tapes out, they are still around but will not work. It was too much of an unfair advantage, someone could get med use MUCH higher than the skills they actually had. Can't be having novice medics running around using Stim E's, now can we

But the other ones work, from what I hear. But only up to +25 total bonus, and you can only have 1 type of skill mod per clothing item. So you could get +12 injury/wound treatment and stick it in a socket on your shirt, and another +12 and put it in your pants, for 24 total. Etc.

I havent tried this yet, but should be getting some tomorrow Hope that helps.

PS, these skill mods are made by BE's, called tissues. a good site for some info is http://swgbioengineer.com/Tissues.html

For the droid, don't fall for the "contains ALL crafting stations" ploy some DE's may use. You will only be able to use one of them and rest won't work. Its not really false advertising, because the DE most likely did put all modules in, its just the droids are bugged. This MAY work now, but didn't before last big patch, and they don't give droids much love, so caveat....

Usually the 110% droids with chemical crafting station are pretty cheap, about 10k or so on Kauri. They eat thru some batteries tho. I made a dozen crates of batteries for next to nothing. 25 in a crate.

I couldn't imagine life without medical droids. They are an absolute necessity as far as I'm concerned. Why is a camp/droid required to buff someone? ah well, different rant, sry.

ps- the only thing you can store in the droids is schematics, so don't worry with storage so much. I like the floating droids have one thats crafting station only, would like to find one with 110% med on it, right now got a creepy looking surgical droid, like the one that put Lukes hand back on in the movies.

The main things to be looking for in the droids is a 110% medical capability rating (that is the % of your normal healing power you have, so this will work better than a med center) and a food/chem crafting. There isn't a quality difference/rating on the crafting stations (quite a few DE's are convinced there are but there have been many tests and surveys that prove their aren't). As far as teh storage nibiru mentioned, that is the data storage. If you get a droid with item storage it will hold up to 10 items for you (doesn't work on surgical droids, but you can get any droid with the medical and crafting modules).

I can't help you with clothes on Kauri, but on Lowca my specialty is BE tissued clothing. Send me an email or visit the shop, waypoint's in my sig.

Whether or not the max total bonus is +25 is up for debate; some people say yes, some people say no. With the components I have right now, I can provide you with what is LISTED as +56 injury/wound treatmnet -- whether it's actually +56 or really +25 is uncertain. I think I work better wearing my +48 clothes than I do wearing my +26 set (I consistently buff for 2500+ with an 800 enhance pack), but that could be psychosomatic.

Thanks for your responses guys!! Immensly helpful. What I see most of you saying, though, is that the only storage that works on droids currently is data storage? What use is that? Do you keep your schematics on it I guess?I thought you could throw a crate of stim D's & a few crates of wound packs in there and tour the galaxy with an empty inventory. Another dream shattered lol! Thanks for the insight, I now have a great starting point --Odohi

is everyone clear on the fact that med use tapes and med use clothing enhancements do not work?

Its designed that way, the only way you are going to get more med use is to climb up the med use tree in skill.

They do work to a certain degree. They gove you wound treatment and injury treatment not med knowledge. Howver I have both at 100/+145. I am very sad to find out that it stops at 125 so what a waste of 100k+ I spent on my three peice outfit that does the extra 145 Wish they would fix that.

i got a set of 4 +14 med cloth and acording to my highs and lows I think the +56 bonus is working corectly i'm not sure about the 25 limit it seems that the lowest i got with a 710 ( I thought about destroying it but it works ok ) pack was yesterday around 950 which is in line with the minimum bonuses. my max is around to 3150 using my 810-860s power whichis pretty close to my calculated max with those packs. what i'm probobly going to do is keep track of my crated enhances to be able to know the range of the random numbers and ranges and if everything stands in line with my bonuses.

Again, no one really KNOWS if the max enhancement is +25, because no one will SAY.

Additionally, the +100/+145 you see in your stat window is your 'normal'/'enhanced' skill level. You're healing at +145 (or +125, again, no one knows), NOT at +245.

New BE tissues do not list the med use mod at all; only old tissues from before the last large publish list the mod. It never worked, even with the mod listed, and now after this publish it never will.
