Thread: Buffs lately...
I was just curious if anyone else has noticed a significant drop in the amount buffed recently. Ever since a 'minor' patch about a week ago, it seems my buffs have not been nearly as high. I use 800+ base packs, and used to get most buffs over 2k, and those that weren't were very close. I also use +wound treatment BE clothing, and I tried with that off, but that didn't seem to make that much of a different (though it did make some, it wasn't a very significant amount). I've tried switching out droids, too.
Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it just me?
I seem to be getting worse buffs as well. My packs are 800+ and I have been getting a lot of really crappy buffs, many in the 800-950 range. This is using my 110% droid and BE clothing. 80% of my buffs never break 1500.
I gave the worst buff ever last night. Buffed all six stats and not a single one broke 1000. Bah.
I've also tried a new droid and have been feeding him batteries each time I pull him out.
A strange, and probably dumb idea... But have either of you tried using the lower buffs packs?.. Maybe 600-700 base... I may try it tonight when I log in. Though I'm sure it won't make a difference, anything is possible ![]()
Nothing has changed. You are just getting unlucky random numbers. This kind of thread happens after every minor patch and it's always wrong.

I have a massive stockpile of buff packs with great stats and I buff everyone all the time. I'm still getting 800s to 2900s, same as before. Unless you are doing dozens of buffs every time you log on, you really are not in a position to measure alleged stealth nerfs.

And regarding droids ...
As has been postedseveral timesin this forum, droids were changed a few patches ago so that they no longer recharge from zero while stored. So if you keep your droid out long enough for it to run out of battery, it will stop working. If you only bring your droid out for short periods and then store it immediately, the battery will last way longer.
Unfortunately the droid currently does not tell you when it runs out of battery. It just suddenly stops acting as a medical droid so you can't use it to buff or heal wounds.
Therefore often a person will bring their droid out to heal or buff, have it follow them around for a while, then store it. In the meantime it has run out of battery due to being left out for so long -- but there was no message to this effect. So the next time they call their droid, the battery is still dead and it appears to have "stopped working". Then they come here and post "waah waah my droid is bugged".
Simple solution is to carry a crate of droid batteries (craftable in artisan skill tree) and if your droid stops working, pop a battery into your main inventory and select "recharge" on the called droid's radial menu. It appears to take a number of batteries to "fill the tank" though I have no idea how many.

You contradict yourself by saying you have a huge stockpile. Did this stockpile exist BEFORE the patch? If it did, it is probably following the prepatch rules not the post patch rules.
I have seen this many times with lots of items. If they existed before a patch, the patch does not apply to them. The devs rarely go back and retrofit existing items to follow the new rules.

I did not contradict myself. The people who started this thread did NOT mention whether their buff packs were created before or after the patch. In fact, they seem to be indicating that they are getting worse results from packs made BEFORE the patch -- the same ones they were using previously.
They're not talking about post-patch buff pack creation and subsequent buffs. They're talking about post-patch buffs resulting from the same old buff packs.
