Thread: I feel guilty I've been taken by a whole new scam

I received an email from Sheepers saying the following
" Chiria is a scammer.
Please do me a favor send an email to all your friends. Do not have Chiria slice you weapons or armor.
I had him slice me 3 million dollar 3x6b rifle, then he logged off.
Please send him an email and ask him to give my money back and my weapon. "
For the record Chiria is a master doc and has no smuggler skills, she is a good, honest and reliable doctor. I was not aware of the name at first and took sheepers at face value and sent out the mail to a dozen people I knew. Then I clued in to who Chiria was. Her name is on my list of master doctors (I keep a list in order to sell my doctor resources).
I knew then I was scammed.
I started talking to chiria and reliazed the truth of her story, I apologized in depth to her and gave my oath to restore her name. I am very angry that I was taken on this, because asa resource reseller I value my reputation above all else.
Sheepers would not respond to my tells or email so I do not have his side of the story.
To clarify Chiria is a master doctor and could not have smuggler skills and therefore not have a smuggler title. Also I saw her not 10 minutes earlier in the Coronet starport selling buffs.... with the master doc tag. I do not belive sheepers story at all.
This is the Response from Chiria

I was on Corellia Selling Buffs. 12k for 2150 @ 3hrs
My advertisement said No line jumping and no Bank Tips (due to bank tip scam)
Sheepers Skipped in line and apparently "bank tipped me"
I tell him sorry I cant buff I cant tell if i got $ in bank ( I dont keep track of my bank) only On hand cash.
So he yells and goes away after more yelling....
Then I start receiving MOUNDS of hate Emails and Tells apparently my name is all over for scamming on a slice... IM A DOCTOR not a smuggler..... So now I bet im on massive blacklist for no reason... Even when the CSRs finish what they do my name is still ruined and I wont be able to get Doc buisness back..
Ah well we will see what happens.. Thanks Costella (ingame) for helping me deal with this..."

Just so everyone realizes, this affects the whole community. We can't have people making false accusations.
When a false accusation is made it not only hurts an honest player but the "never cry wolf" comes into effect. If too many false accusations are made then the real ones are no longer taken seriously. We do not need the real scammers taking over.
A ticket has been sent into a CSR and we'll see what happens with that. If nothing then maybe we should start a community judge/jury system. --- just a thought.
Again I apologize to Chiria on behalf of Bria.

oh my god tha'ts horrible
if you still have the e-mails and stuff, can't you take screen shots and send them to CSR's to get him banned or something?
someone who is this juvenile as to try and ruin someone's reputation should not be allowed to play in such a game that depends on people acting and existing with the help of others
i'm on kettemoor....... if i was on bria i'd help out in some way but since i can't, i will just wish the best of luck to clearing your hurt reputation

The CSR's are looking into it, apparently they have the chat logs.... didn't know they could do that but its good that they can.

Actually a master doc CAN have smuggler skills. I do.
I'm a Master Doc and a 4,4,4,0 (no spice) smuggler.
I have no idea who is right in this matter, but that Doc could indeed be a smuggler.

Why on earth someone would chain mail a hate mail without knowing either of the people is beyond me.
You don't know jack from any of this. She could have taken the weapon as stated in the flamers email, but then again she may not have. It does not matter.
The only person I can see who is clearly at faul it the person who forwards some random flame email.
If you don't know anything don't say anything.

Dang... I'm a doc and I know that something like that would be horrible. I'm truely sorry for your situation. If I were on Bria I'd help - in fact, I may go on there and e-mail everyone saying you're a good doc

i feel for you...i really do. i like to watch my bank amount so when people "bank tip" me i can get them black listed from most of the doctors on wanderhome =)
