Thread: Enhances: How much for how much?

After my 6 month AFK I dusted off the FCCT and started making a set of enhances, mostly for buffing myself while learning TKA. Well my first batch was made with the following:

Avian Meat (495oq 966pe), Known Reactive Gas (590oq, 383dr), aBECs (11pw, 17ch), aCRDMs (42pw), and aSDSs (67pw)

This got me 24-27 charges of 680p, 9403s enhance packs. That yielded a 1496 buff, for 2h 37m. Now I know how to improve my packs; I can make better advanced components when materials are obtained, and I can get MUCH better reactive gas, and there's a lot of room to grow with the avian meat. So I'm not sweating that too badly. What I do need to know is how much the "typical" doctor buffs for, so I can figure out how much I'm going to charge the few times I actually sell buffs. (I don't advertise.)

So... how much will people be expecting a buff to be for? How long do they usually last? And lastly, is there any general scale of how much to pay? Like 1 credit per 2 points enhanced, etc?

I currently charge 8k for a full 6-stat buff.

My buffs are 3 hours long, and hit for 2.45k+ to all 6 stats. People say I've got some of the best out there, but I know that's not true, I'm probably just the best priced for my server

I don't have the exact stats here, but all my packs are over 900 power, 3 hr duration. I use a +110 med droid, +25 clothing, and +23 bivoli.

The last set I made (batch of 100):

870 power, 10983 duration (right at 3 hours), 25 charges

This equates to a 2380 buff (with 110 droid, +24 biv, +25 clothes).

I sell a set for 120k (I rarely buff the public) and my customers say they charge 10-12k per buff.

991oq 739pe avian, 971oq 670dr gas, 72 sds, 61 crdm, 12/17 bec.

My personals are 920s made with 990/980 avian, same gas, 72 sds, 65 crdm, 12/17 bec.

My PvP buffs are 1000ish made with 990/980 avian, same gas, 72 sds, 65 crdm, and 133/12 Janta Blood.

I'm still trying to break 1090 power packs

Holy cow. Well I doubt I'll ever invest in clothing/tapes for higher skill, so I won't hit the top end (very casual player), but I can see I have a lot of room to go. Just scoping for a price...

2450 * 6 = 14700 / 8000 = 1.8375(1 credit / 1.8 enhance)

2380 * 6 = 14280 / 10000 = 1.428 (1 credit / 1.4 enhance)

Jeez, that's awesome really. Granted if you look at the resources thrown into it, with an average Bazaar price of 5 cr/un for decent materials, 56 units for the combine, 36 * 3 for aBEC x3, 32 * 2 for aCRDM x2, and 32 for an aSDS... that's 230 units, or 1150 credits invested, six of them totalling 6900. You get 25 charges out of them on average... about276 cr invested per charge then. Figure half of them get buffed on self/group/guild/friends, and you're throwing552 cr at a guy every time you buff a full spread. That's not a bad racket really.

1496 (with droid) * 6 = 8976 / 2 = 4488, round that to 4500. 1.5K buff for 2.5h for 4500cr

Guess I'll shout that and see if there's any takers at the Medical Center tonight.

Just the avian meat is selling for 50cr/unit. Hell recently avian was auctioned off for 300cr/unit on my server trade forum.

Now you can still get current stuff off the bazaar- but even there a lot of the meat is selling for 20-25 cr/unit. I'd be thrilled to buy decent avian at 5cr/unit.

The BE clothing shouldn't be hard to find and you really ought to consider getting that as it does make a big difference.

Yeah I LOST an auction on some good avian, and I bid 275cpu, I think it sold for 330cpu.

I really don't sell buffs. I buff myself so I can solo better, that's all. If my buffs break 2K, cool, but they won't till I get better avian meat and reactive gas. I think my advanced components are pretty good, I'm not worried about those. This is just so when some guy sees the bald "Apprentice Gunfighter" in a white gunman's duster, green muscle shirt, black ribbed pants with a blue stripe, black boots, and wearing a tech pack then says "That must be a doctor!"... I have a rate to charge.

Happens a LOT while getting missions. I push my little macro of:

/tt I can hit you with +1496 for 2h36m, and I charge half the totalenhance, 4500cr for the spread. I know that's less than what most doctors buff, but I don't have top materials, nor am I charging 9K+. If you still want buffed let me know and please use a *cash* tip, not bank.

Yesterday I ended up making a second set of enchance packs, solely for buffing, and I used them all, 23 charges before the first pack ran out and I quit. That's just over 100K, so I'm happy.

Well, the crafting bug is in me again. I happened to check the Bazaar for new materials, and there's a guy selling Reactive Gas (990+ OQ, 980+ DR) and I basically freak out. 10cpu, and I've only got 60K on me. I blow my entire wad buying every single unit he has, got almost 5K. I'm hoping no one notices it there and after I get some more money I'll grab the last 2K of it. Should last me awhile. Then out of sheer boredom, I flew out to Lok, and let off a burst from my FWG5 into a pharple and checked the meat. 980+ OQ, 890+ PE! Holy cow! So I spent the entire night there running flit and perlek missions with my girlfriend, and both of us were scooping up meat as fast as we could. Tomorrow we're starting again early in the morning, praying there's no shift. (I'm on Scylla, by the way, but I already posted the find.)

So without changing my components (though I'm going to have to make new aBECs soon) I tried one out. First off, I wouldn't mind those 2 extra experiment points for making sure I max out the power on these things--but until my friend is back from the EQ Fan Faire in Vegas, I'm unable to do anything about that. I made 857 power enhances with this new stuff--duration way over 13K (don't remember exactly), and I was very very happy. So I pull out my 110 droid (which by the way, I haven't had Medical Centers overwrite yesterday or today) and push the enhance button. 1885. Gah. I got 1496 with 680, isn't it going to give me more!? I checked for Battle Fatigue and I was clean... so I started doing the math. With 110 droid, and Master Doctor only:

857 x 2.2 = 1885

Well... crap. I mean that's no kick in the pants, especially for someone not looking to sell his buffs. I've got enough material to use these enhances just for myself for a LONG time. But still, I wanted to break the 2K mark. Getting either food or clothes would yield:

857 x 2.475 = 2121

Oooo... looking good! Well, just for arguments sake, what if I got them both (how much does the food run usually)?

857 x 2.75 = 2356

*ape grunts* I see why this is so addicting. Plus, if I could break 2K, I wouldn't feel bad charging 8K for a buff spread, maybe even 9K (seems to be the going rate for a 2K+ buff on Scylla).

So... just out of curiosity, where do you find these Medical Player Cities? If I could find one:

857 x 3.025 = 2592

But if I can just break 2K I'd be very happy with that. So I need to invest in food and/or clothes. I'm not much on buying food a lot, so probably just the clothes. What do they usually go for?

Next task is to buy materials for better components I guess.

I made the following and yielded the following so I hope this helps...

ABEC - 12 power/22 charges using Lok wheat OQ 900+ PE 650+ and Fiberblast with OQ/UT 800+ and DR 850+
CDRM - 66 power using average Pet Fuel but the HErb meat was OQ 9000+ and PE was 700+
SDS - 65 power using iron with OQ and UT 850+ with 800+DR and pretty average oats

I also used avian meat (priso) with OQ and PE around 950 and DR 950+
I used Methediene (spelling?) reactive gas which has OQ and UT and DR over 800.

This yielded in buffpacks with stats 921 power, 13258 duration, and without any BE clothes or Bivoli it can go up to 2200 but with them it goes up to 2530+ each stat.

I paid 22k for my +25 stuff, except for my +25 Robes of Honor, I paid 62k for each of those, because they waste some tissues in the crafting process.

It's usually about 1k per point it seems, at least on Bria.

It took me a long time to get round to buying my +25 doctor's dress (white on white, very medical-looking!), but I've not regretted it for a moment - in fact, I really should have got round to this earlier.

Can't remember exactly how much I paid, around 25k I think, and worth every credit. The problem was finding one, though - eventually posted on my server board and found someone willing to make one to order (which meant I could specify colours, of course).

Even for a very casual player, I'd suggest you invest some time getting +25 clothes - you'll really notice the difference.
