Thread: Template Question??
I know my build is not orignal but i dident make it to be like everyone els. I like master carbineer and master doc. Its ben done but so has everything els. Just do what you like and to anyone that ses otherwise pfft : )
But imo being a mele class and a doc makes it hard to help your party as a doc if your in a group. Solo it rocks no doubt...But its hard to keep on the healing/rezing/cureing etc if you are alwase right in the front tanking stuff.

These boards are a lot "nicer" than the Combat Medic boards.
Honestly - I think any combat profession combined with Master Doctor would be unoriginal. I was just wondering how that
combo faired against the other "cliched" combinations.

TKA/DOC is a popular choice for a reason--its a very powerful combo for dueling, pvp or pve...but I am not sure it would be good if you like being a doc and taking care of a group of other players taking on something like, krayts or nighsisters or whatever. A TKA needs all the mind they can get just to do their big moves, and needs to be close to the target to attack--they can't run around to heal. Of course, if you only had to heal yourself...it works just fine.
If you like playing a doc role in groups, then try master pistoleer...or at least trickshot. Ranged attacks do not do as much damage as fast asatkacan, but gives you the flexibility to go heal/rez someone and keep attacking while you run around. Rifleman uses a *lot* of mind, so while I've seen doc/rifleman...I feel its a tough combo. A rifleman also generally is far back from the target--and the people most likely to need healing, are melee classes.
I'm trying carbines now, b/c broken though it is, the class has a medium armor pierce weapon that does do some nice damage, and doesn't tax my mind nearly as much as pistol specials did--leaving me more mind to heal myself. I'msure i'm not as strong as a doc/tka ...but I can take care of myself....and the combo can only get better once they fix carbines. My ideal range does make it hard to be close to melee tanks tho to heal them...so I may go back to pistols.
I also tried Smuggler/Doc and there was just something I loved with that template. I took on so many hard things b/c as soon as my mind got low, i could just feign until it got better. I did feel bad to feign while other group members get killed..but then again it saved them having to worry about protecting the doc.
I briefly did Combat med /doc..but found the crafting/supplies too much. But I've heard that combat med is just the king of pvp...assuming you get good diseases/poisons to use, and even for the hard adventures, a combat med's poisons/diseases can just take down entire rooms of monsters. If you can stand the crafting...its arguably more powerful than tka/doc... but only if you can make good poisons. TKA /doc would leave more time for fun I think.
So like people said, think about what you like to do most-- hunt with others or by yourself, or duel or pvp...and then think if your template lets you do what is most fun for you.
