I completely agree with you. One thing that COULD work but is almost impossible to prevent, is that when a player quits, he quits with all his money and possessions (all of it being deleted from the economy). But there are always friends saying "give me your credits before you quit" so the money just stays. When I started the game, I could only dream of having a million credits, now it is all too common. One or two people on my server have hit a billion and that is just going to continue. It will become a major problem down the road.

ive seen alot of talk on the forums about the economy and rising prices (buffs primarily), thought id bring this here for discussion

-----------------------------------------------

basically if you understand the laws of supply and demand, doctors and crafters will be able to charge more and more and more and more as more money is accumlated as long as the demand on their goods stays static.

the good thing about the economy is that it DOES enable you to charge what you want. the economy will still follow the laws of supply and demand though, think of it like gas prices.

doctors are going to be able to as much for buffs as they are worth to people, but it will reach the breaking point (it hasnt yet) where they will find ok, this is EXACLTY how much mybuffs are worth to people right now, and people will have to start shelling out so much money that the question will be "is this buff worth the money?"

and doctors will undercut and continue to juggle prices, and people will continue to get buffed at prices that are still worth buying the buffs. this is not "broken"

whats broken is the money flow.

--------------------------------------------

the simple fact is that MONEY SINKS ARE NEEDED.

you dont have money "circulation"

you have a flat unlimited money "accumulation"

missions are a free faucet of money into the worlds economy

sure credit duping openned the faucet up faster than it was suppossed to.

but the problem is, the drain is too small in your bathtub. the money isnt going anywhere. its just being traded back and forth and back and forth and gettinglarger and larger in quanities as time goes on. the leakage due to insurance and travel is a pathetic compared to the flood of dupe money and the steady-flowing mission money.

the dualproblem is, as it gets worse, the sinks get less and less effective since they are flat and not graduated.

the economy gets thrown out of wack because prices continue to rise and things are worth more and more credits, but methods of introducing and removing credits are static and therefore become less and less effective with every credit that enters the inventory of a first time player killing a gnort lair

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

simply put:

there is too much money around, and still flowing in, but you need to find ways to syphon it away more from those who already have large amounts of it or ways to make large amounts of it, instead of just sapping everyone equally.

wanted to bring this here for discussion, PLEASE PLEASEadd your ideas if you dont agree with what i said, maybe youve seen something that i havent, or you know something that i dont.

yea you need a graduated syphoning system. be it insurance, or maintence, or a faction tax, but you need to take from the rich big time. not necessarily give to the poor, but you need you drain the billionares so they cant just sit on the money and accumlate more like that

Mark my words... I WILL be a Billionaire, mu wah ha.

No duping either, dammit.

That's my main goal, its the reason I play this game. I want to be Bill Gates.

I should change OpStar Enterprises LLC to Microsoft, cuz baby I want to be rich!!

I agree though, its entirely too easy to make millions of dollars in this game.

I sell roughly 100 sets of buffs a day to fellow doctors on Bria.

100 sets @ 100k a set = 10mil a day, give or take.
