I logged into starsider this morning planning to go do some buffs. After running a few deeds i finaly got around to sitting down and doing so infrount of Cnet starport.I got a couple people and buffed em as ushal,it starts getting worse from there.First off another doc came beside me and sit down to buff, and im never greedy when it comes to opening up customers to other docs. But this one begin to tick at me.First off they were offering 2400 Buffs 3.4 durtation and Desiese/poisin resist all for 8K.Mine we're 2400 3.2 Durtation for 15K.Am i wrong for charging this much? No,on starsider, this is the average.Obviously the guy had to be making little money. And i for one have doctor as one of my only income,so im going to be making some money while im at it.So i went on taking the gamble that people would probly go to him.But then he put at the bottom of his spam "(Cheaper and better buff)".I still got bessniess tho.A couple minutes later someone says "Wow nice buff".And the doc said "Hehe,i like to show people doctors are not always greedy
".I sitted there quitly and went on.Then this wookie came up to me.He/she stands there a few minutes and i ask em if they tipped.He/she said yes.I looked through my chat and saw no tips.I said sorry i didnt see it.Apperntly she started blackmailing me for a buff saying i didnt buff he/she.It goes into a argument from there. The wook stands there trying to milk a free buff out of my for atleast 20 minutes holding up my line.Like im going to buff them now that they have been blackmailing me while holding up my buff line. Finally another doc that said they deal with she/he on a regualar base's comes by and "Takes Care" of the lowlife.Of course it gets worse.I go to my regular buff supplier only to find out they are currently not in bess.So i go to look for some new buffs when i CTD.20 so minutes later when i finaly get back in game.IM un-able to find any nice buff packs.I finaly logged off and took a long nap cause it has been quite some day...Has this ever happend to you?

NOW THAT'S A PARAGRAPH!!!!
Seriously though, these are the types of things that happen on a usual basis when you buff in large crowded areas. It's been going on since I became a doctor, which was about....oh I'd say august of 2003... That's part of the reason I don't publicly buff anymore, but I'm a pilot too so that's what I do for credits.
As far as not being able to find decent buff packs, why don't you try crafting your own. After all, if you don't craft your own you're just wasting 2 whole skill trees ( a total of 28 skill points). Or, you can always try the trade forums for your galaxy. Personally I enjoy crafting and trying to make the best product that I can. And when you do make your own meds, you won't have to buff as often because your overhead is cut down considerably.
Just some food for thought

My humble comments.
1. Charge what you like and let the customer figure out if the price is right. Every business is like this.
2. If you get a costumer who is insistent that they tipped you it is often better to just buff them and move on. Remember the old adage, The customer is always right. Assume that there is a 50/50 shot that you are wrong and just eat the cost. What is one buff set cost ya? like 5k maybe. Better to be out the 5k and have a happy moving buff line.
3. If your having a bad time playing a game, then you did the right thing and just log out and go do something else.
4. Yep, we have all had days like that.

5. Use your return key when posting to creat sperate paragraphs.

Yes I hate when people get in an argument saying they tipped me. Sepnd 3 minutes trying to stay polite explaining that No, I did NOT recieve your tip. Usually it ends with them say, "Oh... I see what happened..." and its 100% of the time something they overlooked like no cash on them, or they typed it in wrong.

Try to do what others call "buff circles" and you wont have to watch your spatial spam, because you will get bank tip emails

Well I have to be honest, all the docs I see buffing are advertising 10k, been that way for a long time, except for Timmy's theOne, who advertises his ripoff prices (yes he shamelessy states they're a ripoff, and still gets customers, good on him!).
I wouldn't pay 15k for a buff, but then, I am a doc, and I do my own buffs...

Shrug, charge whatever. The other guy might be making his/her own buffs. If you craft it yourself, you'll see what a nice profit margin there is.

On thing you can do is put in your advertising that you only accept bank tips, this way there can be no argument about if they tipped you or not, if they cash tip then its their fault.

Not trying to be mean or anything, but this whole thing sounds like a bunch of whining.
Either the competing doc is:
A) Losing money with the lower pricing... in which case you shouldn't really care how he goes about losing his money. Or...
B) Crafting his own buffs.... in which case it is his advantage to offer them at a lower price. You can't fault him for using an advantage to his... um... advantage.
As far as the arguing customer goes, you have a good point there. Each doc has his or her own way of keepin their paid customers straight, and I'm sure yours works very well (personally, I keep a handwritten list so NOBODY can screw me up
). Just /ignore the customer if you must.... I actually like to hear the crying. If you're polite to your other customers, they will understand that something is amiss with that particular person.
But, as I said before, you can't complain about how another doc runs his or her operation (no pun intended). That includes pricing.

Haha Timmy cracks me up with his stupid macro.
I very rarely buff, but in the off chance I do its either a "For Tips" thing or 50k. Got a problem with 50k then it will be 100k.
Funny thing about StarSider is that people will continue to argue with me until it gets up to about 200k, and they will still pay for them. Now if thats not a Crack Addiction I don't know what is.

Well, here's my take on it. A buff on average, costs 2-5k, depending what you pay for it. If you want to charge 15k, don't do it when other docs are around because someone is going to undercut you. 15k is too much to charge anyway, and most of Ahazi is starting to figure out people won't pay it.
And as for the annoying customer, on Ahazi all docs do bank tip only. How in the world some of you guys on the other servers keep track of all the regular tips in a busy line I'll never know.

Buffing is a price of Supply and Demand. If you got 200 people waiting for a Doc to show up, they will pay anything for buffs. Is it right to be a jerk about it? No, probably not, but My buffs are worth whatever price tag I put on them, and honestly no one is going to make me change my price. Because I don't really care if the person gets a buff of not.
However 15k is pretty standard on Starsider
