is there enough of a distinction between a master doc and the guy who just wants to "buff-good"? yes master gets a lil more power in the buff but stating that is like an admission that buffing is our sole reason for being. we do get to use those 100 med use cures,area disease cures i think(at least they always come out 100 med use when i make them) not that we ever have a reason to use them.

With the new system it looks like a master doc will buff for around 600 while a 0440 will buff for around 540, when you take into account the 3000 base HAM of the player the master doc buff will increase your HAM by 1.6%

There is no info on how doc buffs will be implemented, other than long term buffs in general (all types) will increase stats around 10%. Wait until the CU goes to TC and find out for yourself.
Plus any skills in Doctor will be eligible for respec to any other combat profession skill, so you'll have plenty of time to decide to switch.
