I mean so that doctors who are craftersstill have a use for their curent resources so they don't go to waste...all these hard earnedcredits we have spend will go down the drain, unhappy if resources become useless

It sounds like from all I have read that, I will log in and there will be Elves running around with Lightsabers ( Nerf Bats) running around making the game something other than what I bought, One big piece of milk toast.

If you like to craft meds it sounds like you need to become a BE.

I doubt they'll change the resource requirements for the new meds much from what meds currently require, so that you will still have use for those resources post-CU. Perhaps they'll give a one-time transfer of the old resources to new ones. Who knows what they plan, but I don't think they'll simply make them useless...
And yeah, if you want to craft, BE is where you'll need to go...

Bio Engineer? You must be joking right? I don't know any people who are creature handlers anymore

I think buff packs will be made with the same components.
However as buffs won't be mandatory for combat after the CU, but simply an advantage, the value of our resources plummeted, (and this happened already...just try to sell a resource kit for 3-4 mil now...)
Docs won't be able to charge 10-20 K for buffs, (they won't be worth that much), and buff packs won't sell for 15-20 K per, (for the same reason).
So we're taking a collective bath credit wise on resources...

Neither do most BEs. Right now BE is basically part of the Chef profession and used as schematic monkeys for chef.

Right now, we have nothing but assumptions as to what the BE crafting will do. We can assume that the Bio-engineering crafting will use the same resources that we currently use for buffs, stims, wound packs, status cures, etc. Going on that assumption, as a doctor now going into the CU we have two options:
1) Become a Bio-engineer and continue crafting
2) Sell your resources to a bio-engineer
This, of course, is assuming that the new crafted items will be using similar resources as to what Docs use now. For all I know, the enhancer packs will use totally different stuff, but I would find it very very unlikely that the devs would do such a thing.
Doc is going to change, and until we have more specifics on what exactly is going to happen, I don't think we can state that the Doc profession will be "useless", I would think quite the opposite.

Currently BE's can provide pets for CH's as well as tissues for Chefs. With the CU they will also be the primary crafters of pharmeceuticals, in addition to the few stims in the Medic tree (which is required for BE). While a BE is not a popular profession choice, I'm sure they will increase in number once the CU hits. And if you only want the doc crafting part of BE, only take that branch. No need to use skill points on skills you won't use.
