Thread: Good combo??
Well I am unsure if you are still interested, butI have Doctor/Combat Medic/ Pistoleer. I have found...that Doctor is great as you have of course aswell. With the abilty to do enhancements, and resus. But add Combat medic to your tree, and you have ranged stim heals, and area poison attacks on your enemys hams. In addition when you are novice Pistoleer you have health shot2,body shot 2, supression shot, and a few others. So up close and far away you still have good defense and the blessings of medical abilities.Hope this helps.
I'd say to use your skill points most efficiently, and if it is your only account, go with Master Doctor/Master CH. That will leave you with 4 points
If the option was just Doctor/Riflemen and Doctor/Pistol.
I would definately have to say pistol since it has much faster firing rate, so if you want to throw in heals between fire, pistols are much more "responsive" on that regard.
Also future of riflemen are very much up in the air so stay tuned on that as well
Personally, I think it depends your your style of play. If you group for the majority of your time, then I'd concentrate on CM with base pistoleer skills. You have to be close enough to your teamates as a doctor and that can put in close proximity to the enemy. Thus Pistol is vital. As a CM, you can offer evern greater benefit to your group augmenting your Doctor skills, with poisons and ranged healed.
However, if you tend to solo, then I'd go for strictly Pistol. It uses action rather than mind. Action you can heal, mind you can't.
Just my 2 credits,

There are three playstyles to consider before deciding which elite ranged weapon profession to take up in conjuction with Doctor.
PvE solo - if you're soloing then you should be using pets of some sort (faction pets or CH pets) and with that in mind you will want to be targeting the health or action pools of your opponents (to work with your pets damage). Both pistols and carbines are good for this but keep in mind that Health is the most commonly hit pool by a random shot or by a pet. I'd say stick with a pistol for this play style (although it is nice to pack more of a punch with a nicely sliced carbine)
PvE group - You definitely want to stick with pistols for this play style for the reason that has already been stated: speed. It is essential for you to move about as quickly as possible and get as many actions as you can. When grouping, you can either be enganged in combat which allows you to get some weapon XP or you can refrain from entering combat mode (so long as you can avoid being targeted). A good doctor will stay out of the fight since you can heal much more quickly this way.
PvP - Use a rifle. It is guaranteed that if you're fighting another player, they have the means to heal themselves. It's really frustrating to work someones health pool all the way down with your speedy pistolthen they use their novice medic skills with a stim B crafted by a master doctor to fully heal. It makes sense to target the only unhealable pool in PvP. It is true that you will be depending on two skills the drain your mind pool but, as a doctor, you should have all your mind related stats maxed. This, combined with being buffed (as you had better be before entering PvP) and you are a PvP machine! Throw in a little food or spice to boost the mind and you are nearly unstoppable. Not to mention that if you happen to be Zabrak make sure you know what /equillibrium does....
So generally, what I'm saying is stick with a pistol but if you want to be a little meaner as a doctor, go for the rifle.
