1) You need a Food and Chemical Factory to make higher medical items. However the Factory is named the Food Factory. For some reason SOE left the Chemical part out, apparently to confuse newbie Docs.

I paid about 50k for my factory on Tempest, so you might be able to get it for less on a more established server.

2) Uh... If you want to focus on combat healing you might want to choose a Combat Medic. Doctor's main focus is on Wound Healing and Enhancement.

However, I can easily keep a group alive with regular stims (c's).

if you are planning on running a factory jsut to suit yourself, it's prolly gunna be cheaper for you to buy factory made components... factories are for those of us that make a proffit from meds, not just the casual user :-)

hi, i just hit novice doc this morning and i have some questions regarding the proffessions

1.) Factories, what do i have to do to get a good stim and woundpack factory running, do i need any special skills? how much does a factory go for? is it alot of work and $ to maintain a factory?

2.) what skills should i go for first, im mostly gonna be doing combat grouping so i want to focus on combat healing.

I would say doctors are way superior to CM's at combat healing, so don't worry about having picked the wrong profesion. CM's are just woefully underpowered (and we are overpowered).

As for the factory, i wouldn't bother unless you have money to throw around or want to sell some resources or supply friends. You can hand craft your your personal needs no problem.

oops i forgot skils

Unquestionably, work straight for revive and buffs.

Nothing in the game improves a group more than those two skill.

A factory costs 1200 credits and 1200 power cells (or any other power unit) to run for 24 hours.

In order to keep it busy for 24 hours you better make sure you got plenty of resources available.

I suggest you should start using a factory if you plan on selling your medicine. Depending on the amount of experimentation points you have available it takes about 50 mouseclicks to make one handcrafted B stimpack (gaawd I AM a GEEK!) which seriously could cause you to get RSI.

To avoid this I now use 2 factories and only large harvesters to get the resources I need. Yea, I'm selling medicine, alot I might add otherwise I couldn't afford all of these nice big harvesters.
