Thread: I am having a problem Reviving others

I just respect into Master Doctor to use as support for my main character on my other account.

This is the first time I've been a doctor, so if this is newbish, please forgive me.

Three days ago I tried to rez a group mate (rl friend) and the warm up timer comes up, but nothing happens at the end. My friend never gets a consent message.

Today I was asked for a rez by someone else, and it worked fine, I got a message saying he did consent.

Later on, another friend in group dies, and again, can't rez him. Am I doing something wrong, or is my friend (he isn't getting a consent message) doing something wrong?

At the time we were all on leave (imps).

Thanks.

You gotta try it again. If the player happens to be a Jedi he must consent you first otherwise nothing happens. If you move nothing will happen, if you wink, wiggle, shake, or f@rt wrong, nothing will happen. If you have your sound turn on, you should hear a "Click" if the ability failed in which case the timer will still continue to move but will result in nothing happening. Try again until it works. Jedi must consent regardless if they are in your group or not.

Hopefully this helps you understand how borked up revive is.

I've found that if the target was a different faction, I needed them to /consent me as well.

MyT has got it spot on. My personal steps to revive, which work on first attempt most of the time, and on second attempt nearly 100% ( assuming they're consented ).

1) Ask dead player to /consent me ( regardless of class, faction, race, gender, or orientation ).
2) Approach corpse.
3) Stop. No walking, turning, adjusting camera angle, etc.
4) Wait one-one-thousand, two-one-thousand, three-one-thousand.
5) Type /revive in the console. I don't even touch the mouse from paranoia.
6) Wait, listen for the "click" ( as mentioned above ) and success/fail regardless.
7) If failed, go to step 5 and repeat.

Yes, I'm excessively paranoid ( particularly about step 1, which probably isn't always necessary ). But it seems to work as long as I don't get knocked down, stunned, or otherwise state-changed by enemies while reviving.

Of course, it will still fail 100% on active combatants ( assuming I'm on leave ), so there's only so much you can do if your companion was not prepared to be assisted by an on-leave doc.

I figure if I'm out of combat, the extra few seconds doesn't make a difference. If I'm in combat, the difference between success and failure is severe enough I'd rather burn the extra few seconds than risk a failure.

Have they fixed the consent list issue?

Jedi used to get their consent list filled up, with no way of removing old entries. Essentially, the same people would be repeatinga ton of times in the list, yet that person still couldn't rez them, because their consent list was full.

Anyone know anything about this, if it got fixed?

I have yet to run into this bug with the 2 Jedi in my guild, so I can not verify if this is still an issue. I will say that I have not seen any posts about this recently, so I would guess that it is fixed, but I'm not sure.

I have also never run into this problem, mainly because we either kill everything before I res or I drag the person 64m away from the mobs before I attempt. Combat seems to bork up the res so I just don't do it.
