Thread: What if wounds built up FAST but regenerates over time?
Every weapon have something called Wound Chance, a %.
In the beginning I thought that translated directly into wounds, so if you took 500 damage with a 20% wound chance weapon you took 100 wounds.
I have been thinking lately. What if wounds where actually gained that fast, but then also regenerated slowlyover time.
Wounds cannot be healed through stimpacks, so if you fight, your healthbar will eventually be black and you go down regardless how fast you are with regular heals. This makes a doctor far more useful in the field since they are the only ones to restore wounds.
To not make it unbalanced, wounds could slowly regenerate without attention.
For a human,a healthbar regenerates in 8 minutes when standing and 2 minutes when sitting down.
Lets say that wounds regenerates in 8-16 minutes only when sitting down (not at all when standing up).
It can also regenerate faster in camps, cantinasand medcenters to increase the use of thoose places (thus; theese places are useful to have around when people duels).
This was discussed as a possibility at Fan Fest. From the way the Devs where talking, I'm not really sure if they are ready to get rid of all wounds as has been stated else where in the forum.
So we may see wounds healing when you log off for a certain amount of time in the future, but it was hard to get a reading from the Devs. By the way they were talking it wasn't something they really wanted to take away from us fully.
They see wounds as a way to grief a person, that's why they downplayed them.

Wounds were a way of reducing a player's effectiveness in zerging situations and made Doctors more necessary, but they're not that big of an issue anymore. ![]()
