Thread: Oh I forgot...I made Master Doctor...2 weeks ago
I should be Master by Tuesday hopefully. Just need to spend a few hours healing wounds. **edit** RL work always gets in the way of my gaming work
Seems to me I'm seeing mroe and more of these "THere's nothing to do when I Master" posts. And it simply isn't true.
THe real difference, though, is whether the "game" for you is doing what you need to do to advance, or if it's everything else. If you like the grind, then yeah, there's no more point to the game once you Master. Unless you just want to start over on a news skill tree and try to advance up every skill tree in the game. The Devs have long ago stated, though, that as far as they are concerned teh doesn't even begin until you Master.
Things that I have been looking forward to doing but felt not fully ready until I and my friends had Mastered at least the majority of their fields:
FInishing the Rebel Theme Park
Visiting ALL the planets and trying out all the dungeons. (We wiped out thr Imperial Prison on Dathomir last night. Three seperate AT-STs. Tough going and we would have never made it wihtout my skills asa Doc there. Too bad none of the dungens seem to ever have anything to loot in them. Something kind of unique would have been nice. Even if the stuff issomewhat useless or maybe jsut some kind of decorative throphy frm each dungeon.)
Taking on all the different kinds of Nightsisters, Krayt Dragons, Kimogillas, and the elusive Dark Jedi.
Visiting the Jedi Academy
Look into unlocking the Force Sensitive slot, even if I probably woldn't bother using it with this character.
Being independent enough with my factory runs to keep myself afloat to afford all of those other trips.
Gathering the best possible resources I can find and making hte best possible meds I can, maybe even seeing if I can finally make an Enhance Action or, even harder, and Enhance Health that buffs for over the ever elusive 3000 mark.
Helping my friends to achieve their goals.
Taking on some of the battlefields (I;ve never even been to one, yet!)
Completing Cries of Alderaan and seeing how much more interesting the other quests can be. (This one is kind of a letdown, I admit.. Who carea bout killig Meatlumps all day long?)
Making the top rank as a Rebel (or Imp, if you are so inclined)
Get more involved in the GCW.
There' sjust sooo much stuff I can see that I want to do that for me Mastering my skills really is just the beginning of what I want to see and do in this game. But that's just me and the kind of game I like and is fun for me. Mastering was the boring part.
You aren't just a Master Doctor I'm sure, I know I have plenty of points to master one other profession, and my choice there has been Combat Medic... which I must say is a blast. Sure I make and sell meds in small quantities [soon to be large quantities when I get a factory], but that's not all I do. You have to do stuff if you want to have stuff to do. The world of a Master Doctor isn't confined to the walls of a house crafting items or inside a Med Center healing people for practically **edit**-for-tips...
I was master. I had good credits. I made a lot of friends. But I stopped being happy around the time the nerf bat started, I lost 7K xp, prolonging my master status by nearly a week, terrible customer service, and the rampant 12 yr olds that run around with leet speech and a lack of vocabulary also.
In short, what good is playing when you're not having fun? I may return ina few months when everything is sorted out...but as of now...I just don't feel it's worth playing. However, this is MY personal opinion and I refuse to enforce it on others.
And yes Master Doc was really cool. They way people would gape in awe whenever I healed an ENTIRE black box with one action/wound hit or when I buffed people. I got many entertainers and fighters hooked on ym buffing. And they loved paying 1K for the carbineers/entertainer's pack and 2K for full buffs.
Yeah, that was fun stuff. It's just the other things that made me not have fun.
Oh and Zarlor, you've done an amazing job with this forum.
When you stop having fun is about the time when you should move on, for now at least. I stopped having fun in Shadowbane, hence why I'm here now. I tire of all the immature assholes on Shadowfire sometimes, but I also live in a very populated City. I'm moving Monday to a smaller city on another planet and hopefully I'll get to know the locals and become friends with many of them.
Good luck to ya, and hope you find your way back to SWG sometime in the future.
Can't blame a guy for tryin, eh?
