Thread: Adv Components slightly useful?

On stim packs, they jack up the charges by 15. They jack up the max heal from 700 to 1000 on E's. I find them useful on stims.

On cure packs and such, they only jack up the normal charge amount.

On buffs, however, they do little to the overall buff itself and only improve the charge and the duration. Without em the best I can get is 2 hour sbuffs. With em I go to over 11000 seconds...or nearly 4 hours. Cool eh?

But I feel kinda cheated whene I use highest ingrediants with high ingrediant Adv components. Am I just crazy or should I feel like these components, after the hard work in securing the supplies, should do more?

I can't comment much as the advanced ingredients are kinda crappy on starsider right now. with the available resources i can only get enhance pack D healths for instance only to about 700 I think. but still even that is more than i would get if I used the highest quality regular ingredients. I feel they should do more yes and we shouldn't have to wait weeks and hours of sampling to find these ingredients. If we have everything easy though we'd just complain that there's no challenge to the profession

its true, Starsider got jacked on this resource shift when it comes to advanced components. Doctors got hosed. but there will be brighter days.

I'm really not sure using adv components for buffs is worth it. It really helps on low end stuff, but on the high end it kind of falls flat. For example, adding 80 effectivness to a Stim B is great, but adding 80 to an Enhance D that's already in the 700s really isn't doing a whole lot. Especially when the results vary so wildly. The same Enhance Action D pack I use can hit for 2200+ on one person, and then only for 800 on the next.
About the only thing I like about it is the extra charges.
