Thread: How many Doctors broke the 1 million credits earned mark?
Curious to see how credit broke Docs really are.
I am currently selling crates of Stim B's and in a couple days, if not today, I will break this 1 million credits goal I had for myself.
So if you want to make money Docs, then by all means, this is the way to go. Sure, crafting sucks, but Stim B's will ALWAYS be in need...ALWAYS. The market will never go away or slow down as they are always being used up. You can also run missions as well, when the factories get fixed.
I'm nowhere near a million, but I'm not hurting for two credits to rub together either. I've got about 250,000 credits in the bank. If I liquidated all my "physical" assets in game, figure that would put me between 300-350,000 credits. Not rich, but definately upper-middle class.
Is this 1 million in the bank at one time? Made through selling medicine?
I'd be over that by now if I didn't keep buying heavy harvesters =)
But...A lot of that was made in combat, and not selling doctor specific stuff. So I don't think I count.
You mean in the bank? or earned total?
Novice Doctor,
I have 6k in the bank right now, and in the medical field I have earned somewhere in the 10-12k area.
I have spent 70k+ since I became a Novice Medic.
I know crafting stims can make money, but its a question of time for some of us. At 1 or 2 hours a night I don't hardly have the time to craft a lot, let alone run harvesters, factory, or otherwise collect the resources needed to craft large scale. Lets say I buy my materials at 4 credits a piece, so just under 300 credits per stim in materials, that takes 15-20 minutes on the bazaar. Assuming I find everything I need, if not it could be much longer to find the right materials. So I invest all I have in stim materials, roughly enough for 20 some stims. I make them but flub a few times, leaving me with say enough for 18 stims and a few leftover components. I take my 18 stim B's and go to the bazaar, some are selling for 1000 credits a piece, wow! I could make a lot of money on this...oh wait, they use advanced components, so at best mine can go at 600-700 (it depends on location and server, of course). Now with two crafting tools, and fully experimenting on each item it takes me say 4-5 minutes per stim, So about 80-90 minutes crafting at least, then putting them on the bazaar takes another 5-10 minutes, so in all I've spent almost 2 hours doing all this, my entire playing time. I come back on the next day to see what happened, so far I've invested 6k credits, 2 hours of my time and have nothing more than an extra BEC or two to show for it.
But what luck, I've sold every single stim at 700 credits each! That's 12,600 credits. I double my money, that's great, now I have an extra 6k and some crafting xp to show for it. Now I can do it all over again and make another 6k. ExceptI really don't want to spendmy wholetime crafting. And in an hour doing missions I can make 6k too, leaving me an hour to do whatever I want, heal, craft, explore, etc.
So yes it is a way, pretty much the only way to make money besides enhancements, but I'd like to break even someday just healing, without being called names for asking for payment.I don't want to have to craft endless stimpacks so someone else can have fun. Instead of selling someone stimpacks I would rather sell them my services as a healer. Plus, I think just about everyone here would agree that you can only craft for so long before going batty.
Don't get me wrong, I am pleased as a pickle when anyone in the medical profession makes money. It's good for morale. It's just that at the moment to make money as a doctor the choices are sell stim B's or enhancements...why can't we make money healing? And more options for the profession is always a good thing.
So congratulations on the business, but its just not for me.

I passed 1 million a week or two ago. Competition is heating up now though, since there's more Master Doctors around, prices in my area are stable, but pricing for the sever as a whole are all over the place. I was selling a crate of 50 advanced stim-b's for 40k and the potential buyer told me they could get one that was nearly identical for 10k. What did I do? I told him to buy the 10k crate because it was a bargain, and insanely priced. 200cr for three advanced components, the stress of dealing with factories, the difficulty of obtaining all the necessary resources to make those advanced components, plus the time and effort to do all of this? All that isworth much more to me than 200cr per stim.
All of my credits were made either from either selling Stimpack-B's (the only kind I sell), or from doing missions. Well, throw in a few thousand in tips since the game's release ![]()
But I'm not trying to become 'rich'. I just try to break even...and I spread the creds around to entertainers and medics who heal me. Passed out 4K one night, 1K each to 3 medics and 1 entertainer.
im -20k now.
i loaned 50k to set up harvesters to craft some stuff. I was able to make 30k, so I'm still -20K short.
