Thread: What EVERY Doctor needs!
Dakota, Master Doctor here. As the title states, I'm here to let you all know about something you absolutely, positively must have.... A Swordsman.
I partner with Drizlar, a Swordsman/CH and it has been a wonderful ride. He can deal tremendous dmg (1000-2500/hit) allowing him to go one on one with red cons with relative ease. I stay on follow on him 24/7 and heal him, keeping him Uber buffed and constantly stim-ed. He cuts a path of destruction through the countryside as I rake in the medical exp (or used to anyways before I mastered). His pets follow and help out. If Drizlar should fall due to his mind bar (usually avoidable with a good helm, equalize and/or spice) then his pets continue to tank while he is incapacitated and I switch to keeping them alive. If Driz falls in combat and is DB'd, I am able to instantly raise him and his pets tank while his 60 second timer wears down.
I stay out of combat entirely with the help of mask scent and he is quick to kill anything that should happen to aggro me. I still carry a gun which I must use (unfortunately) for faction missions, but never fight unless I have to. While he is killing I am free to grind medicines and Bio-Engineer tissues and/or harvest the kills for meats which he has no use for. Once Bio-Engineer is fixed, I will be able to provide the pets he uses to tank. We are a perfect fit.
He carries a rifle for PvP and together with his pets we are able to hold our own during Raids. We have a platoon of 6 Stormtrooper Commandos we keep for emergencies and raids, but are looking to replace them with AT-ST's as we are able to. We are also working on Stormtrooper armor because lets face it... its cool.
But I'm getting off point. Basically I just wanted to let you guys know that this combination of classes has been alot of fun to play and I highly recommend it to anyone starting new characters. Any brawler is a great fit fora Doctor, I have teamed with Marksmen and the exp flows alot slower in my opinion. Just my 2 credits.

I found the best way to gain xp is to follow a group. I have a squad leader friend we make a pretty dangerous team given 3 or4 other players specially when you buff those around you.
But having mastered doc and started working on combat medic I find I'm gaining med xp at a tremenous rate buffing our group at every opportunity and healing them there after. I don't bother with much of combat medic 'cos master docs make so much more at low levels (this should be obvious but the difference is increadible I'm gonna spend ages crafting to catch up with the final tree).
Doc's in groups rake in the xp and are well respected (if not necessarly well paid, thoI always ask for something for "General Services rendered"
.
I partner with a TKA, and with her vibro's, and my pistol, we more or less take out everything in our path. She's got Ranger also, so aside from coming in for missions, we really never need to hit town. Battle Fatigue and Mind Damage are the only reasons we have to to be honest.
If you're a medic/doctor, best bet is team up with a good combat person, and just go out and hunt.
(Now all we need is a dancer to come with us)
