Thread: TKA or CM
I am in the process of completely reworking my main character. I have decided to give up BE and become a Doctor instead. They both use the same resources in crafting, but the Doctor can actually use the stuff he makes, and that is important to me.
I am trying to decide on a second profession to go with Doctor. My original plan was to go with TKA, but now I have also been considering CM. From what I have gathered from the forums, TKA would be the better choice for solo PvE, and CM would be better for PvP play. Is that a fair assesment? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
If you go Doctor/CM, you're going to be quite a wimp when it comes to PvE, but you'll be very powerful in PvP. However, I have a friend that is a Doctor/TKA and is quite formidable in both fields. You wouldn't be quite as strong in PvP as a TKA, but you'd be much better off in PvE. I tried the Doctor/CM thing and hated it. I seldome PvP and I couldn't stand what a wimp I had become in PvE.

the main tka advantage other than being powerful solo is defensive bonuses which help doctor survive the down side is that in large groups you be expected to act as a healer rather than a fighter since your job is to insure survival of the group not to help kill.
main advantages in combat medic is their ability for range healing and area healing which are desiarble in larger groups . you can also do some crowd control with warning shot and stuff . in pvp you get powerful poisons which usually makes you a prime target. the downside is that you'll have much lower defensive skills than any elites.

Thanks, I did see another post on compliments to Doctor. There was some good info there, but I was just trying to narrow it down a little further.
Looks like TKA will be the better fit for me. I tend to solo a lot, and if I do group, I would have no problem being the designated healer.
i ment lower in the forum but well you got my drift. there is also one specificly about tka that got a more broad discussion i tried to outline some options there too.
i offered an alternate hybrid class I mighttrymyself:
master doctor /CH 2/2/0/0 /marksman 0/3/0/1/artisan 0/0/0/1 or somekind of variation . but this means your main job is doctor with some ability to solo and you can survayour own resources and not lagging behind the group.
you can take any variation you want if you see your main job as a doctor. what's nice about this game that any combo can work in some way or another you may not have the best combo but you may still have fun.
