Thread: Woundpacks doing damage heals, now?
Did I miss that in the patch notes or something? I used a couple woundpacks on a player, and his damage was instantly gone - no black bars, and no white damage either, so I couldn't follow up with a stim.
Is it just me?
There appears to bea bug with this. When the buff wears off it appearsyou take the amount ofthe buff as damage.Someone else just reported this, and my 2nd toon was running along last night and got incapped out of the blue without a damage message or anything hitting him.
The buff wearing off already subtracted the health naturally...I'm guessing when they added in the feature to heal upon buffing they added in something to remove it later--basically causing the total reduction to happen twice. (if any of that makes sense..i'm a bit tired)

I noticed the same thing yesterday when I stopped off at a med ctr to show off my new blue R2 unit. I was surprised at what I saw when I hit the guy for a wound heal and there was no white showing, but I assumed that someone had just hit him with a stim at the same time (which now that I think about it, there was only a couple of novice medics in there, so neither one of them would have had a stim to knock out all of that white in an instant.)
But what's the deal with buffs? If I buff you for 1500, then when the buff goes away, it takes away more than the enhanced 1500? Just wondering....
Can't confirm the buff thing completely. My char incapped out of the blue last night without taking any damage. Didn't think too hard about it as I was trying to cram some missions in before I went to sleep. Someone else posted this morning that buffs were causing damagewhen wearing off so I put 2 and 2 together (asmy toonsbuffs were larger then his original health/action and they'd been on a while when it happened). Unfortunately I'm at work so I can't test it out myself

I guess the question is, did you have any damage on you when the buff went away? I kind of get it if you have 600 base health, buff for 2000, then the buff wears off when you have more than 600 health damage. This would stink since it could be a very long incap (unless someone can heal you). In that scenario though you should always end up with positive health if you had < 600 health damage when the buff went away.
Of course since the HAM bar display goes buggy when you buff yourself, youcan't always tell if you have damage or not (short of doing ctrl-C), and that could be a huge problem as well.
I always have the problem where the HAM bar display doesn't update after buffs. It appears that I always see the old amounts, and damage only shows up on the main screen if it's more then the buff.
I'm not sure if he had any damage at all as I hadn't checked the char screen beforehand, but the displayed amount showed him at max so it would appear that he had at least his normal value (900 health/action). I was just starting out on a mission for Han Solo so it'd probably been ten minutes since I'd seen any combat (running back to town from previous mission, dinking around in town etc) I'm inclined to think he was at full when it happened.
I'll have to test it again when I get home and pay a bit more attention to the details.....I'll buff the doc char and leave him sitting in town while i run around with the other toon and see what happens when it wears off (assuming he can still buff himself...seem to recall someone say they weren't able to apply buffs on themselves anymore...don't know if that was related to the timer bug though)

Chefs are reporting this too which really hurts an already gimped class.
