Thread: nice patch!!!!
Well, I can't say that I am surprised. Look how they handled the buff issue.
You can pick A, B, or C. Oh, you guys want A? But thats the hardest to program! We would have to copy the healing pipeline and reduce all the modifiers! That's too much work. You can have A (completely nerf) or C (leave it alone). Oh, what? You DON'T want us to nerf you. Well, then guess you'll get nothing and be happy about it.
/sigh
Well that's patently not true.
Every publish the Devs have focus points, from what I can tell. That means some professions are going to get more fixes than others. Docs are actually in great shape when itcomes to problems, so it's understandable that those professions that are in far worse shape really need to get more attention than we do. And we are not the only profession that has had very little done for us in this update. i would suggest taht Chefs, DEsand BEs need a LOT more help than we do, yet their fixes in this patch are at least as minimalist as ours are.
We DO have some fixes in here, though. Specifically:
In Issue #6, Enhance Packs: (*Fixed*) Enhance pack radial menus also are bugged. As posted by Kamat (and tested on the Lowca Galaxy) “Selecting a target then going into inventory, selecting the item, and then selecting the enhance target always causes me to enhance myself. I cannot use this to enhance any target.”
(*Ben Hanson response to correspondent on 9/22/03: “Fixed the enhancement medicine radial menu so that target self actually targets self.” and relatedly, “/healState and /healEnhance no longer require an argument. It will automatically select a medicine if nothing is specified. This enables these commands to be used in the toolbar.”)
(*Fixed*) Enhance Packs have been related to a perma-incap bug, as well, since these buffs, in effect, allow you to take more wounds when buffed than the character actually has. Once the buff wears off the character is left with a negative wound level. (Logging may correct this problem to give the character at least 1 positive wound.)
In Issue #13, Factories and Havesters: (*Fixed*) Also the ability to split crates would also be very helpful.
(*Fixed*) Factories (and a few other inventory windows, but this is most prevalent and reproducible on factories) are not refreshing properly. When moving an item into the input hopper on a factory, the item actually moves in all other respects (inventory size goes down, hopper size goes up and so on) but the graphic of the object does not move from inventory until either a window is closed or the “Change View” button is pressed to force an update.
In Issue #17, Crafting Schematics: (*Fixed*) It has also been noted that despite the increased complexity and resource requirements of something like an Advanced Biological Effect Controller over a standard BEC the standard BEC will still provide more XP.
(*Ben Hanson response to correspondent on 9/22/03: “Increased the experience given for crafting advanced biological effect controllers so that it falls in line with other medicine craftables.” As noted at the top the earliest we can probably expect to see such a fix would be in 2-8 weeks.)
In #24, Damage/Stim/State Timer and Bug: (*Fixed*) A timer on these like we have for wound packs to let us know when we are ready to heal Damage or a State again would be very helpful. As it stands now we simply have to continually hit the appropriate method of healing or attempt to keep an internal track of times between heals.
In #32, Skill Enhancement Concerns: (*Fixed*) At the same time it should be noted that SEAs do not currently seem to be working correctly. There are issues with having to socket them only when the clothing is not worn, that tapes cannot be removed from clothing once socketed, that clothing must be removed before logging out, or the tapes will actually prove to be penalties instead of bonuses, and there is also concern that beyond +100 the are utterly ineffective, thus providing that Novice Doctor, in the example above, the means to be as good as a Master Doctor with a +100 Wound Treatment, but that the Master Doctor cannot get better since +100 seems to be a practical limit. (Although this may just be an anomaly of SEAs not working properly to begin with, I am getting conflicting reports about SEA tapes working or not working above and below +100.)
(Patch notes show: “Make adding a Skill Enhancer to an equipped socketed item update your skill bonuses correctly.”)
So we DID get some fixes in.
I forgot to add several others that were not on out Issues list, necessarily, such as the improvements to Poison Cures.
Let me further add that the A, B, C choice on the first buff poll was ENTIRELY my fault. Ben NEVER gave me 3 choices to work from, he only gave the response that all of you saw. I passed along the 3 choices do to an interepretation error on my part. His option was always just the two choices at this time (and I would NOT call removing variability from Buffs a Nerf, it's the same thing we have now, just handled differently. Geez.) So if you want to blame someone for the buff thing, blame ME, not the Devs.
haha you think you got shafed because you got no doctor updates? well pikeman didnt get a single update even though there were promised one fix! oh and i am also a doctor too ![]()
bah i think ill go sharpen a knife HahHAhAHa ![]()
There is no mention of the words "carbine" or "carbineer" in the patch notes. It's one of the most broken professions and they got nothing.
"Doctor" is mentioned at least twice and there are some other fixes that affect us. We are one of the least broken professions in the game. We don't NEED much attention.
This morning:
At first I was dismayed at hearing that "they just couldnt get to our issues in time.. blah.. blah.. blah"
This evening:
Now while I write this I am actually verygrateful that they didn't do anything "to help us" in this patch considering the problems it seems to have brought to some professions and the playing community in general.
Later
Now here's something to try...
Buff yourself, die, clone or rez, and try to rebuff. Good luck...
also becareful with your stims and targeting, if you accidently target they wrong person and stim them it will work but it will work even if that person doesnt need it. b careful not to accidently waste a charge.
so we did get something a couple of bugs. isnt that nice of them
i notice a change.
One thing i noticed is that when you buff or heal wounds, the damage is automatically healed. You dont need to heal them afterward. Saves some stim charges.
but if you ask me they broke more then they fixed.
I died and wasnt able to reapply my buffs after i cloned. Even on the stats i wasnt buffed on when i died
