Thread: Suggestion for Buff Grief Fix
A simple /negatebuff (stat) or /resetstat (stat) command touse on yourself if someone is giving you a crappy buff would be great. You can cancel out the buff so it won't affect you. This would also help with the randomness of your enhancing... If you don't like the buff reset it and try again. I can see how this could be a problem with the potential to be "UBER" but its still the useage of resources and if everyone can do it then I don't see it as a bad thing.
Can I get bump bump

That would just open the way for people to cancel if they receive a bad health buff. I don't think the designers want that -- it's supposed to be random in the current setup.
The natural solution is to require that you group with someone to buff them.

Agreed too much of a potential for cheese.
And not the good cheese.. the oily gov't cheese they throw off the back of trucks.
Group is my choice of fix.

how about we get them to concentrate on fixing the bugs they just re-introduced before we offer suggestions for improvements...? The timers are sticking after death/cloning so you cant re-buff if you die. methinks that issue might be of higher priority for us
I don't disagree and when I log on tonight I'll check it out and log it accordingly. However this thread wasn't about that. I seriously doubt this post is evening pinging on thier radar conisdering the issues with the patch.
Indeed, there were some bad bugs introduced with this patch, but this is still an issue all on its own. In fact, it's even more of an issue now. It used to be that, if someone buffed you with a bad buff as a way to "grief," you could have someone kill you to get rid of the buff. With the timer not functioning properly, this type of griefing becomes, potentially, more effective. Now, there really is no way to get rid of the buff short of waiting. ![]()
I definitely believe that they should change it so that you must be grouped with someone in order to enhance them. Then, it wouldn't be too difficult to buff people (no more difficult than training someone, really) and it would eliminate this type of griefing.
