Thread: Use a pet? Please read proposed changes and reply if you have not done so already!
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Developers&message.id=7098&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
In addition to making CH immune to dabbling, the devs have proposed lowering non-CH pet levels to cl10 from 15, and making it so that you can have only ONE pet out (be it droid, creature, mount or faction pet) at any time.
Please respond to this thread if you have issues with these proposals, as the Master CHs are *loving* the changes as it makes them stronger by cirtue of making any non-CH or low CH weaker.
Just posting here as a Master Doctor/Master Carbineer and knowing how heavily I have to rely on my feeble non-CH pets to be able to do missions from the terminals (my main cash flow - who tips docs anymore?)
If the proposed changes manage to make the game more Starwarsy, then I'm all for it. Maybe combat droids will be rebalanced and become the new tanks. If so, then woo hoo.
I'm all for this rebalance. Previously , there were no high-level critters to fight because pets made them too easy. Let's bring back some of the tension that existed before pets came in and ruined it all.
I'm hoping that the worst that will happen is the game will turn into Star Wars rather than Pet Wars.
Granted, this can easily be a disaster, too. However, I'd like to see if it improves things -- because things need improving.
H.
I happen to really like Sloppy and Boris. They're my pets, they have their own "personalities" of sorts and so I would hate to lose them. However, I would not care at all if they were lowered in power (since I can buff their HA/secondary anyway). Also, I would further support this change if, as someone mentioned, combat/defense droids were implimented. Perhaps fairly strong combat droids that would ONLY attack if you were attacked. This would be perfect for healers, artisans, etc and would be hard to exploit on anything worth killing.
My problem with droids replacing non-CH pets is most likely they will be unhealable and therefore next to useless.
Hiding behind a droid or behind a non-CH pet, I don't see much difference, except that I can currently heal my non-CH pet before he keels over...
