Just a quick note here. I got Master Doc last Thursday night. I wasn't really able to play again until Monday night since I went out of town. So technically I've been Master Doc for like 2 days now. Let me just say that so far, I really, really like it.
I like the social aspect of it. Having that Master Doc tag up is like a magnet. You walk off a shuttle and get a tell or two pretty much right off "you buffing?" -- "Oh yeah, you know it." I like seeing the folks that I buffed around on other planets and saying "hi" to them as we cross paths, although they probably don't remember me.
I can just sit down in the Mining Outpost on Dantooine and a line forms by itself after a few minutes. The ultimate compliment is "hey, good buffs!"
Do ya'll typically heal a person's wounds before you buff them? Or do you only buff and march that person right along? I personally think that the customer appreciates a full service, since most people think that buffs are pretty expensive (but they probably don't have to buy buff packs now, do they?).
Basically I like chatting it up with people while kicking back and buffing. Everyone I've come in contact with has been very cordial, very kind. So far the work to get to Master Doc was totally worth it. Time flies when you're buffing.
This profession, in my opinion, rocks.

Its great to see you are enjoying it and congratz on Mastering. It really depends on the environment you are in and what you are doing. I enjoy chatting as well while buffing and it really makes what could be extremely tedious a little more fun. You will occassionally run intocomplete tools so please don't let them ruin your positive attitude. At least 75% of the people that come to you will be nice and I've found about 5% of those I now talk to on a regular basis. I usually do heal their wounds depending on the severity (I'm not going to waste a charge on like a 20 health wound) and always check their BF to warn them their buffs may not be as effective as possible. Enjoy the class man.

I think I read somewhere on the Doc forum that you could check to see how much HAM a person had. Is this true? Also, how do you check their BF? I'd love to know how to do that.

You can do a /diagnose to check wounds and BF. There is also an icon for it which you can put up in your hotkeys if you got room. As for their HAM I usually just target them and put my cursor over their bars which will tell me what their stats are at.

Glad to see your enjoying your Doc honeymoon. The income flow from buffs certainly makes being a member of the community a lot easier (if your wife does not take all the money and spend it onclothing).
When you get a long buffing line, the people at the back don't appreciate the "extra care" you my be providing. In places like mining outpost on Dant and the starport on Coronet, buffing is a factory job and output is key. That's why clients visit these sites.
If I'm doing a field buff or have set up in a more remote location (Endor has been good recently) I try to make sure that I heal wounds too. It helps to have some C or D packs here to keep from mulitiple treatments.
Poison and diseise cures are always available, in the field I charge for them.
Anyway, there is some insight on my business for you
Cheers
