sorry just have to vent /rant on

I go into theede this evening to see my wife dance and do some healing for the group she is in. I get there and there are 6 novice medics tossing heals like candy, and a combat medic hitting the group with AOE heal. Okay,I take a deep breath and just resign myself to playing a few tunes with the group, can I get an invite? NO the leader is afk andno one knows when he will get back. /sigh At this point the medics and the CM are starting to go at it over who has the right to heal who.The griping gets so out of hand the wife gets fed up and logs. /twitch Alright I ll just go to the med center and do some nice relaxed healing there. Yes I know I m a niave optimist Because what I found in the MC shocked me. Inside were 8 doc's diving at anything with black in the HAM and 4 groups of afkers healing tumblers. Again the griping over who is stealing whos xp. I simply hung my head and walked away.

Thank you SOE for ruinning what little immersion there was left in the game. Thank you for making our proffesions speed bumps in the road to the great light saber wielding power gamer. Thank you for giving us uncle owens version of the star wars universe.

/rant off

Fortunately I always had pretty good experiences when I went to the Cantina to Entertainer Heal on my way to (non-holo inspired) Master Doc. A couple other things I did that I don't see mentioned much, is when the combat guys come into Cantina to heal mind before getting their other wounds healed, I'd send them a tell and say "hey, if you step outside I'll heal your other wounds". Worked 99% of the time and you catch them fresh from the battle field chock full 'o wounds. Just step out the front door and whip out your droid and you're good to go. Also, whenever I would go to the starport, I'd take a few minutes to check everyone out in front of the starport and also waiting for the shuttle. Anyone who was injured would get healing. Never had a complaint and got a bit of xp while waiting for the shuttle. And of course the big daddy of xp, is once Ibecame able to decently buff, I'd buff my guildmates before battles and that was HUGE xp. I did the whole wound speed line in just a couple hours. Actually had to stop, find a trainer to get next box, or lose a bunch of xp. At 4-6k xp per set of buffs, it builds up quick. Just a couple ideas anyway.

I have a personal grudge against Holo grinders, and their effect on the economy and the atmosphere of the game in general.

I am following holocrons myself, but I don't grind anything. I'm actually playing the professions. Stuff I like, I schedule into one of my alt characters, for a full time profession.

Some days I swear I'm the only live person on my server.

My advice is simply to stay away from Theed, Coronet and Bestine. Concentrate on smaller towns that do have some population, or better yet the outposts on Dantooine or Dathomir. [Those are the hot frontier planets right now] Those places generally do have people in need of help rather than the light saber chasers.

This is starting to sound like the problem AC had/has with afk combat macroing. Just learn to live with it, it won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Just makes me glad I only have to witness these things happen when I get hit alot or die (only twice I think since decay on insurance patch) to heal my BF/mind in the cantina...or if it's small enough, idle in the med center of the city I live in.

The XP desperate medics and docs are just trying to level up. Why is this bad? The bickering is a function of not enough wounded to heal for XP.

This is why I don't fault people who employ tumblers to get theXP they need. They hurt no-one, and yet some people really seem to get their undies in a bunch about it.

Check around the advanced planets and findan outpostthat has an empty med center/cantina and alot of people doing missions. You'll get good exp there without all the hassles and you'll have people that appreciate you being there.
