Hi, ty for checking this topic. I would like to know how those of you who make pharmecuticals in bulk, make them? I really can't see many people surviving the mind-numbing boredom of using crafting tools, even with a macro to make it quick. Do you use factories? Take note, I have played the game for only a month now, so I don't know everything, yet
.
thanks for your time

Also, I think draft schematics may be related to this question, but if they are not, please explain them.

Yes, I make my own pharmaceuticals. Definitely get a food factory when you can afford it (and more than one helps) to start creating your own "crates" of sub components like ABECs, ACRDMs, ALSs etc (or indeed other things like Stims and in the future - buffs).
Dont mean to acronym too much and insult you if you know already but just in case:
ABEC = Advanced Biological Effect Controller
ALS = Advanced Liquid Suspension
ACRDM = Advanced Chemical Release Duration Mechanism
ASDS = Advanced Solid Delivery Shell
This you do by being near a personal food crafting station and when you create your item - choose to create a manufacturing schematic for it. When you do this, be aware that the schematic will only allow the factory to build stuff based on the exact ingredients of the schematic, even down to serial numberswhen applicable.
e.g. I create a schematic for my factory for Stim B's using ABECs from a crate of ABECs that I built earlier with these ABECs having a serial of s3r1a0l. If this ABECs crate runs out (ignore the other ingredients for the moment for the Stim) - then only more crates of that ABEC serial will be accepted because you created the Stim B schematic with ABECs from that crate. This would be the case even if your other ABEC crate with serial of say o1oes92 was used that had the same stats and ingredients as the first ABEC crate.
Keep an eye out on good resources (herbivore meat, avian meat, talusian water, lokian wheat, dolovite iron, class 4 liquid petro, tatooine fiberplast, dantooine berry fruitas the more common things) and try to harvest them where possible - when you can afford. The meat of course you can only harvest if you have some scout.
Obviously, being new I appreciate you are not going to have much money probably to afford these things - but start off small and eventually you'll get to love this profession (I hope!). It's great being a doctor in the field too - but our buffs have negated the need for that to a large extent atm.
To answer your specific question too - I do create ALSs using Dantooine Berry Fruit and Talusian Water in food factories. Also - don't forget that factories require maintenance and power (radioactive or other).
Hope some of that helps...

I appreciate all of the information--a bit overwhelming but very helpful. I was wondering if I would need to gather up all of those many different items that you mentioned; from the talusian water to the carnivore meat, just to make buff packs(including all of the acronymed items
). I do have about 400k credits as of right now. I made money on my main character, harvesting avian meat(go figure), so I do have "some" money and means for more. My question is just, what items do I need to make buffpacks? I am not high enough in the 4th column to attempt any buffpacks(not even As yet).
thanks again

Buff Packs, most of what you need to know
That link also contains a lot of info, but to summarise - try to gather the resources for the Advanced BECs, Advanced SDS, Advanced CRDMs, good Avian Meat & Reactive Gas (think I forgot that from my list before).
Those are the things used to make the better D's - but by all means, try making A's with these or normal BECs etc and see the difference it makes to your packs. You'll learn loads by just experimenting, trust me on that.
As for harvesting the resources via harvesters - see if a friendly doc will give you some small units to start experimenting with when you get to a position where you can create things. On my server - heavy harvesters go for over 100k mostly so your money would soon be eaten up - try using a couple of BER4 personal harvesters or BER10 mediums to gather some resources etc as they should be more affordable until you can afford a few heavy harvesters.
A lot of folks will look down on personal harvesters as they only have a BER4 rating or so - but they can fit places others cant and with 2 or 3 - can still be useful.
I'd say more - but that FAQ is quite good.

400k will not be enough money to make buff packs that you would want to sell to public.
However for 400k you could probably make 10-20 good packs, that you could use to buff the public. With 15 Sets you could buff for 12k at 32 charges, and make about 5.7 million. I would suggest making atleast 50 million before you set up a shoppe that sells buffs, because you will need a constant supply of resources, and they are expensive
