Congratulations on making it to master!

The term 12-point doctor means that when you go to experiment on a crafted medicine, you have 12 experimentation points to use. This is dictated by your medicine experimentation ability. As a master doctor, you have 100 points in the medicine experimentation ability. This is converted to experimentation points by dividing by 10.

Therefore, you will have 10 experimentation points at this time. The only way that I know of to get the extra 2 points is to get an additional 20 medicine experimentation ability through a med crafters apron (+5), and/or medicine experimentation clothing attachments. This typically will cost somewhere around 30-50 million credits on the trade forums (and a lot of waiting and frustrated bidding).

As to the benefits, if you are intending to run a medicine crafting business (buffpacks in particular), then it does help somewhat. You will be able to make packs with all of the power available from your ingredients and still get the med use down to 90 so that non-master doctors can use them (opens up your market quite a bit). You can also get a little boost to the power of your advanced biological effect controllers, but this is certainly not worth the 30-50 million credits in my opinion.

In short, I would simply use your 10 points and learn your craft. It takes a long time (or insane amounts of credits) to collect resources that are of high enough quality to really take advantage of the extra 2 points. See if you like that process first, then you should have the money to buy a crafters apron and a few tapes to get to 11 point. At 11point, you will be able to make MU90 packs most of the time if your ingredients are good enough.
