Actually, getting xp as a doctor is not too hard. Just make sure you join a group in which the tanks know what to do: Not to run away when getting hit, but to keep standing while you heal them.
If they dont stay where they are, just let them get incapped a few times and tell them that wouldnt have happened if you actually had a chance to heal them. Most people pretty fast grasp the concept of staying within 10m of the doc.
To get xp, you just need to heal another player by 1 point of damage while he is fighting a creature. So if you see that health bar drop, heal as fast as you can, dont wait to get the most out of your bacta shot. The less damage you heal, the less aggro you get.
But on the other hand, docs need to get xp for healing peoples wounds, at least in med centers. Currently people have a hard time finding a doc to heal their wounds.

Don't join groups that are majority melee as a doc. Leave melee groups to the Combat medic. make sure your in a group that actually pulls rather than rush in and get chopped up because your healing will end up aggroing ALL the nest when people do that.
When someone doesn't listen and run in I just let them incap or die and drag them back out. I only heal those that understand how hate works and listen to instructions because of that I know have friends that can form lean effective hunting groups where everyone getting good xp.

i agree i think doctors should be found more in medical centers andin-battle healingshould be left to COMBAT medics and medics. Doctors could be inessance like entertainers, in med centers they could group for faster healing of wounds and curing poisons (like a medical staff). They could charge doctor fees much like entertainers charging a cover charge. They could have different medical instrument set ups like entertainers with theri musical instruments. (Im on a role about entertainers huh). In combat groups they could be able to set up small field hospital tents just outside the battle zone where people can run to, to getquick heals. Could have long ranges on dragging incap or dead players to the field hospital tent for ressurections.

I found it hard at first as a novice doc to get xp. One day when I was out hunting though, I found out as a tkm that if I let a ranged pull and then taunt and leave auto attack off and heal myself I would get as much med xp as I could want without running around. I know some people aren't tanks and so can't do that and I also know some of you don't want to be on the field but I enjoy it. I get asked to be in groups all the time as a tkm md because of my way of keeping the group alive. It may not be the most RP'ing experience but I can max my med xp fast.
