Thread: Enhance Base Heal & Quality of Resources
There's actually no great mystery -- the schematic does work more or less as it says, but it omits one crucial bit of information...
Any time 2 (or more) resources share a stat, that stat is averaged before being used in the schematic calculation. So, for enhance packs, both resources have OQ, although only one has PE. So your power result is calculated as ((oq1+oq2)/2)*0.66 + pe1*0.33. Whether PE is thereby more important than OQ is dependant on your specific resources -- if your gas is quite good, then the PE of your avian meat makes a significantly bigger difference on your enhance packs.
Hope that helps.

>>>if your gas is quite good, then the PE of your avian meat makes a significantly bigger difference on your enhance packs.
That still doesn't explain why, using the same gas, the lower stat avian meat gives better overall results than the higher stat meat. Unless I'm being especially dense this morning.
Here's how that formula works out using the resources given at the top of the thread... Since gas quality wasn't listed, I'll assume 950 oq gas.
The first avian meat yields ((898+950)/2)*0.66 + 761*0.33 = 860.9
The second one yields ((983+950)/2)*0.66 + 612*0.33 = 839.9
So, very clearly, the 150 point variance in PE makes a greater difference than the 90 point variance in OQ... If this isn't clear enough, there was a very detailed thread on the subject on this board not all that long ago...
Feel free to test it, although I'd recommend using ALSs to do so, as then you're only wasting 12 units at a time -- not a good idea to screw around with enhance packs... ![]()

Thank you so much. I was actually about to go do that math myself, and I appreciate you doing it for me. Now I have to change all my spreadsheets!
I still don't understand the crafting algorithms. Either they're wrong, or there's something random going on that makes no sense at all.
I've been crafting enhance packs. All of the component ingredients are the same. (I have crates of ABEC's, ALS's, ACRDM's.) I am using exactly same reactive gas in all cases. All packs are Enhance D's. I ran this experiments making Enhance Health D's, keeping all ingredients constant *except* the avian meat.
I have two kinds of avian meat. Kidi: OQ 898/PE 761/DR 934; and Paocusrap: OQ 983/PE 612/DR 980. If I calculate the value of the two kinds of avian meat based on a forumla of 66%OQ and 33%PE as it says on the schematic, I get a value of 844 for the Kidi and 851 for the Paocusrap. That *should* mean that the Paocrusrap should make better enhance packs than the Kidi.
With repeated experimentation, using all experimentation points on effectiveness, I can repeatedly and predictably make enhance packs with 835 base enhance rates using the Kidi, and only 819 with the Paocusrap.
That makes no sense to me at all. Can the devs explain why this is happening or can someone enlighten me on why this might be the case? Now I'm concerned that when I think I'm using my best resources I can't expect better results than when I use my other resources.
>>>Perhaps the PE plays more of a role than we realize. It's an interesting idea. I will test this as well.
If that's true, I wish they'd change the stats on the schematics. Having a mystery formula for the crafting o meds is REALLY annoying.
Please do let me know if you get the same results. I'm really curious to understand what's happening here.
