Thread: Petition to change the way Doctors Buff
You might all hate me for this, I dunno, but it's a serious issue nonetheless.
I'm from Bria, and I'm not a Doctor (problem 1 you might have with me), and there is a problem with a player called Carpet. Carpet is a known expoiter from his past days as a MCH (he'd exploit to pull out all his pets at once), and he's taken his cheating and harassing to the Doctor profession.
He'll just run around, and randomly buff random people for about 30-50 points just for the high Med XP. This is causing problems for other players because sometimes they will have either been in the middle of recieving GREAT buffs from a Master Doctor, or on their way to get buffed by a good Doctor.
The problem this casuses, is that now the only way to get rid of the buff is to either have someone kill you, and then Rez you, or wait out the time for the buffs to wear off, which can take anywhere from 2-3 hours, as you well know. Option 1 isn't great, because it causes the additional waste of a rez Pack, and possibly wound packs as well. And simply cloning is a terrible idea, because of the decay.
All I'm asking is maybe they should make it so you can only buff people if they're in your GROUP. It's only a small change, that will not really impact the way buffs go. I mean, Image Designers have to be grouped to change hairstyles, right?
Everyone likes free buffs, but come on, it's something that just shouldn't be happening. When I get buffs, I go to see a professional for them, and pay them accordingly.
The worst part about Carpet doing this, is he just comes up, and does it without saying anything to you, and then expects some sort of tip or payment.

This is in our wish list ALREADY.
Okay, then, thanks!
good idea.
but maybe /consent would be better than a group only option?

That's a great idea.

It's not possible to make an enhance kit that has 30-50 point buff but with 2-3 hour duration. Also, he obviously isn't doing it for xp since a 30 point buff would give 60 xp points. He'd d better healing dancers in the cantina. He's doing it simply to grief people, or to stop opposing faction players from getting better buffs right as his faction is about to raid the town.
What Lexy said. And if he is repeatly doing it after many people have told him to stop it, and KNOWing the effect it have on the receipent, then he is griefing and it is your obligation to report him to CSR.
I really hope they do NOT allow more powerfull buffs to replace weaker ones, as this would destroy my buff bot
As it is I have to waste 6-8 charges per day just to keep him online.
If only the macros in SWG were just a little bit more usefull.
/disagree
Please don't require grouping or /consent for buffs. This will add an extra layer of irritation I don't want. The way to handle a griefer is to post and make everyone aware of it, and to /report it. Get as many possible to /report it which should be no problem if he's a repeat offender.
D's overwriting C's overwriting B's overwriting A's is the correct way to accomplish this.

What about those people that make the weakest D possible and grief that way?
Max charge adv. bec, crappy crdm, crappy sds. Experiment charges for final. Hrm, yep, look at that, bunch of charges on a D, with a crappy buff that is the equiv of an experimented B. Would people do this? If they want to grief, they will still do it, just sure they'll have to spend more resources.
