Thread: Buffs Overpowered

Hello,

guess I'll make myself unpopular for some people but Ive got to ask if its only me feeling that doc buffs are overpowered most of the time.

I think the master doc buffs are exactly what they should be for those people hunting the toughest opponents in game. Well not exactly actually cause the random factor is too high. Lets say youve got a master TKA/fencer and hit his health with a buff for 1000 and a master in some non melee classes who's getting buffs for 3000s, now who should be taking the hits?

Ideally the professions with maxed out skills should be getting the best buffs (range 2000-3000+) while a novice brawler should in my opinion not be able to receive such enhancements. The difference from being master-buffed to having no buffs is way too huge and is making the gameplay for people hunting low level creatures kinda gimpy when having those buffs on.

Also the non master buffs are not used as much as they could be, even though these are pretty fine for people hunting squills for example.

So well I'm also bringing up some suggestion in the end, asking to create a relationship between the buffs power and the power of the person receiving the buffs:

Make it so master doc buffs only hit highly skilled people in full power. Have master doc buffs hit for less power when applied on lesser skilled people. Non master docs can buff the lesser skilled people just as fine (except for a shorter duration maybe) which is also opening a new market for those who are still on their way to proceed in the doc profession.
Since this would actually be a nerf to master docs, also reduce the wide range that buffs hit for (make it 2000-3000+ instead of 1000-3000+ for master docs).

Of course this would require some hard programming and the SWG community would probably be better off if some other classes would get fixes before. But its something to discuss anyway.

Most low level players can't afford Master Doctor buffs anyways... And, like you said, that would take a lot of time to program... Sounds like a neat idea, but far too complicated to implement.

go and cry to someone who cares. Actually you've got a serious point here in that buffing should rely on the skill of the doctor andthe resources used in the buffpacks. If we ever get consistency you will see our prices rise and fewer Swordsman walking around with 4k HAM.

Um, it's a doc skill and we get the mods for it, why shouldn't the strength be dependent on who applies it? Like a previous poster said, newbs generally can't afford master doc buffs so I don't see what the issue is.

Thats like telling a master weaponsmith that wen he makes a D18 that he onlly gets 3 experimentation points...after all the only people that are going to be using it are low levels so they shouldent be able to get a high quality weapon. The problem with buffs is they are to unconsistant not that low level combat chars can get buffed realy high. If i use a high level e buff it should never hit under 1k that makes no sence.

looks at the doctors skill tree hmmmmmmm,if you want to make it that way you could possibly buff the novice players with say enhancement packs-a or b.of course charge the novice less but i think your option is already ingame
