Stop charging 10k for buffs. And when you read this dont tell me I have no idea what im talking about. I am a master doc and I never charge over 5k. I charged 7k today, i have to admit that but still. Doctors charging 10k for buffs is stupid.

I charge 5k and still make twice as much as I bought the packs for, so all you greedy people stop charging it. And for everyone else, stop buying them.

I will stay at 5k for life. Hope you all will follow

I responded:

There is no reason for most docs to sell buffs:

  1. I can make morecredits per houroff making meds than selling buffs
  2. I can make more credits per hours (and have more fun than shouting "Master Doc Buffs for 5k" all day at the starport), by grouping with 6 people and killing enraged rancors on missions
  3. I can make morecredits by selling all the medical supplies I've harvested over the past few months
  4. I can enjoy the game more by hunting with friends, or flirting with dancers in the cantina, or involving myself in GCW, or by planning events, or finding new and better resources for my profession.

Put simply, it's not the "mark-up" on final prices of buff packs that makes 95% of the Master Docs in the game HIDE THEIR "Master Doc" title; it's the fact that buffing for credits in JUST NOT FUN, and not as profitable as a dozen other ways to make credits. (and they DO hide those titles)

Does that explain WHY I charge 10k for buffs? I charge 10k to drive down demand. I charge 10k because it's not worth my time to have a line of7 people (and growing), when there are better things to do in the game than buff at the starport.

I buff as a service to my fellow Servermates. VERY few times have I said no I will not buff you (only when I'm late for something). My buffs are among the best on the server. YOu want the best, you pay for it. After all, that extra 5k you paid me for buffs, can be made back 10 times over by helping missions get finished faster, saving time from cloning, having armor not kill you as fast as the creatures, and a half a dozen other reasons to get buffed.

If your buff packs are power 600-750, by all means, charge 5k for buffs.

If you've spent dozens of hours collecting resources, and meat, and have buff packs with 925 power...you should be charging 10k.

And one more thing, people who know what buffs can do...BEG to be buffed...even at 10k.

Until I can walk through Coronet on a Saturday night and not get 20+ tells for buffs, I will be keeping prices high. If people keep bothing me, I may raise them even more.

i can definately relate to that, when i was outta packs i had to make a marco to respond to people so i wouldn't have to keep saying "no, i'm outta packs". i usually use my Master Combat Medic title instead of master doc just to stop ppl from /telling me.

one time i used Novice Medic as my title and got a tell from some guy asking if he could help me thru medic so he could teach me for app. i was so anyoned at tells at that point i just told him that i already had a friend helping me with medic and i turned off title

I agree totally. The trouble getting decent stuff, making the **edit** packs then spending all day yelling for people to buy them... hard work. My other combat character can easily make more cash and have more fun selling resources and runnign missions. As people are gettign richer why not charge more. IN the western world which is richer medical expenses are 20 times that of a poorer country... as people in swg accumulate vast amounts of cash why not charge 10k? U only have to run 2 missions and u get it back. You are practically inivincible to most creatures when u r buffed up anyway.

Rant rant rant...

I do realize that this post is about buffing, but for us doctors who are constantly being sent tells regarding buffs, or in KenthaH's position, people trying to help him attain what he already has, simply go into the character screen where you change your title, and uncheck the box at the bottom, Make my character searchable. With that box unchecked, people can search all they want for a master doctor, adn they'll never find one, even if you do have your title put up. The only tells you'll get are the ones from passer by's. By doing this the amount of tells will be significantly decreased.

I'm not much of a buffer either....Now I just tag along on guild hunts and stuff to make my money....way cheaper, way more fun, and way less stressfull. I'm on Gorath myself, but I don't charge 10k. Right now I'm only charging 7-9k depending on how I feel. I also very rarely use my MD tag, because I get tired of people inturpting my huntin time.Usually I just wear a Novice Scout tag and buff group in the middle of a crowd. Then when people ask me if I buff I just say no I'm healing. *wink*

Its a shame when we put so much hard work into getting Master Doctor and we can't even wear the tag because of stupid people. I often just sit and laugh at people screaming for buffs. and sometimes I go out of the box and tell them I can buff for 10k, and they just start swearing at me. so them I just reply to them and say...LoL oh well My party is buffed how about yours.

/shrug

it really is a shame sometimes....I spent almost 3 months getting xp to MD and when I did I only felt proud of it for like 2 weeks. But I don't wanna drop it, because I need my buffs. Buffs are like Muon drugs....sometimes you can live with out them....but man does it feel good when you got them.

Currently I am not a Doc, but I recently started a second character who will be a Doctor.

What I was gonna say is, by all means charge 10K for buffs, I have almost always paid 10K for my buffs, not because that's what was charged, but because I feel they are worth it and I am more than happy to tip the extra 5K.

I would have no problem paying it and no one else should either. I hate bothering the Doctors anbout buffs and thats why I'm going to start my own; so I won't have to bother them anymore.

I hope everyone starts charging 10K.........
