Thread: Why buff every stat?

This maybe just a stupid newbie doctor question, but I seem to take damage in my Health, Action and Mind bars only. So what do I need everything else enhanced?

Because with out secondary buff stats, you might as well not even get buffs. Secondary stats help you do a few things. 1. Wear armor. 2. Regenerate faster so you can spam specials more. 3. Reduce the cost of those specials you spam. The higher Secondary stats you have, the better fighter you really are. Hope this helps you.

Strength and quickness buffs lower the HAM costs of specials. Constitution and stamina buffs increase regeneration rates.

You secondary stats also affect your damage levels (just in a different way.) Notice that each primary has 2 secondaries associated with it. One of them determines how much each special action you preform costs. By buffing that stat you can greatly reduce (or even remove) the cost to perform specials and special actions (such as healing). The other determines your regeneration rate for damage, so even though you may take a hit on your Health, for example, having a high regen rate greatly improve your survivability, especially in long battles, by reducing how often you need healing.


Secondaries are expecially important for pets since they may have huge primaries, but their secondaries are virtually nonexistant. By buffing secondaries on pets they actually gain the abiliy to regen. Buffing thye stat that affects special cost on a beastie pet is just a waste, though.

you seconday health stats determins how much damage your bar takes useing specialsand regenerates over time same as your action secondaries....if your secondaries were not buffed your health and action bar will go down faster when using specials and regenerate slower...in other words your health and action would be no use to you if they can't regenerate at a fast enough rate as your health or action is being damaged.


People I buff usually care more about the secondaires rather than health or action.

The secondary stats (quickness, stamina, etc.) are what controls the rate at which your primary stats (Health and Action) are reduced due to actions as well as how fast they regen.

Yeah, there were no replies when I started typing that then the phone rang so I figured I should do a little *gasp* actual work. :\

I find I only need 4 buffs (Health/Action/Const/Stam) and my health/action regenerate fast enough with armor so I never have to stim. I have never had to buff every stat but I guess different professions have different HAM costs.
