Now the background info on this:

1) I am a Master Doctor (Bria char)
2) I had the Master Doctor tag up
3) I am searchable at this time
4) I am not in Coronet, but outside my house a min or so from C-net, so this guy ran a search to find my name as a doctor

No, I was asked if I was a doc after they searched for doctors. The rez thing isn't the important part.

Only heard about it and thought they we're just "bugged" smugglers, etc because they got caught with the tag on and don't want the hassle of "not slicing" or buffing, etc. If that's true though, that could be a very good reason.

Yeah, I've only heard it from people when I need something from them, so it very well could be just them not wanting to do it

Yup, it happens.

The tailor in my guild always has tags from old profs.

She had Image Designer up once and I told her I thought she dropped it and she said she had but just kept the tag.

If you have the tag up when you drop a profession the tag will stay there until you change it. If you just set it to no tag, it'll be back up the next time you log in.

I just dropped my pistoleer skills and even marksman. I didn't have myself targetted when I did it either and I still have my Gunslinger tag up.

The tag stays until you change it yourself.

Not to be mean, but this thread reminded me of this movie quote...
