Hi, i was a doctor sometime ago, it was for a holocron (dont shoot me) so i really didnt do too much with the proffesion, but now as i look back, i realize that there is something intruiging to being a Doctor. It seems like a good concept, something i find interesting. But since i really didnt get into the proffesion to much when i did it, i have to ask, what do you guys do other than buff, and maybe rez a few times a day? There is a crafting aspect which i enjoy, most of the time, sometimes i get lazy and have to buy the stuff. What else is there to it?

Its just something about doctor that seems to draw me to it, but i dont wanna go back and be a buff wh0re (scuze the term) like i was when i did it for a holo. Also, i can see a lot of role playing potentials.

Doctors can be of great value in pvp.

Throwing buffs out the window........

Doctors can cure poison/disease highly valued in this day and age of chemical warfare.

Although somewhat rare it can be a big help to others to heal wounds like only a doctor can. Sure everyone is a TKA nowadays and meditates wounds away, but that takes them out of the fight for minutes.... where a doctor can get them back in it in seconds.

Flame Blankets to ward of commando dots.

There is not a quicker pet healer in the game.

Doctors are not only of great value for pvp, they can totally change the outcome of the battle, the ability for you to heal states, wounds, damage, as well as rez and buff main stat's to get them back in the fight in 30 seconds instead of 3 mins. I have never been on a pvp where a Doc was not one of the most valuble players on the field.

I am not into PVP as such so cannot speak for that. However aside from anything else, a doctor is pretty much an essential for a large group hunt with each group member having differing abilities.

Aside from the obvious buffs and Res's. With a Doc healing me and/or removing states from me i can pretty much go anywhere andfight anything. In a group the Doc literally keeps people alive. Particularly the newer players.

Try taking a large group of people with varying ability or experience into the geo Caves and you will soon see how important a good Doc is.

Docs are important in PVE as much or more so than for PVP imho.

Agree completely. I am a fairly new master Doc and I had a blast with a large group in the Geo caves last night healing and rezing. We had two docs so we could heal each other and the rest of the group. Good times where had by all.

I got Doc as holo and now have zero interest in dropping it. I like knowing im keeping friends alive and that i have a pretty easy source of income. All im looking for right now is something good to mate it with.

Great question and great answers.

I like it becuase (in no order).

1. I can always make cash fast by myself. While waiting on the shuttle I can make 50k just by putting up my doc tag.

2. I like the support role as much as the figher (im a TKM as well). In PvP it is a must. Just last nigh there were 4 of us against 10 of them. They had 2 CM. I was able to keep everyone a live and we wiped the floor with them. It was not even close. With Stim E's, state healing, poison/disease healing, and wound healing and rebuffing after clone a doc can keep a group alive for much longer time.

3. I have slowed down my crafting but at first I loved it. It was like putting a puzzle together.

I think you'll find that there are many ways to have fun as a doc. We are an absolutley necessary component to any PVP or high-level PVE group. You will need to accept a support role when in groups, something that many who are used to playing pure combat characters do not naturally do. You indicated that you enjoy crafting sometimes, and that's a help. I don't sell buffs, though many docs make money that way. If you enjoy crafting you can make very good money selling buff packs and still spend time hunting, shopping, dueling or whatever.

In PVP,a well coordinated group with well prepared docs can be very frustating to an enemy combat medic. In PVE, against any of the high-level mobs, the group docs are always busy. I can't tell you how many times I've seen members of my group react to my death with statements such as "oh, *edit* we let the doc die!". Followed immediately by, "Are you coming back out here?". I must admit, it's nice to be appreciated.
